November Ended With Winning Streaks

Oriwu Senior Model College, the premier college, in Ikorodu has yet again reaffirm her towering excellence in achieving success.

The month of November was marked by different achievements in different competitions. These winnings are a testament to the unwavering commitment of the school's management under the leadership of Iyabo Idowu Elusakin and teachers to sustaining excellence.

The school, ably represented by Aluko Rhoda and Adedara Oreoluwa emerged winners at Lagos State Chamber Of Commerce & Industry LCCI Annual Secondary Schools Essay and Debate Competition held on the 27th November, 2025.

Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu came first in the African Principals Conference Initiative's 2025 National Debate Competition on Secure Based Attachment in Nigeria Schools. The APCI organized this debate to commemorate the 2025 National Week of Action Against Bullying and Violence in Schools. Kemi Owaboye and Abigail Abraham represented the school at the competition on the 28th November, 2025 at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State.

Also, a contingent of students represented the schools at the 60th Anniversary Celebration of The Exclusive Club Ikorodu on the 29th November, 2025.

✓ Owolewa Maryam came first in the Beaded Bag Competition.
✓ Obadimeji Umar was second in the Lagos State Beaded Logo Competition.
✓ Usman Khadijat and Adekanmbi Aliyah came third in the Straw Mat Competition.
✓ Solawon Daniel was third in the Painting Competition.
✓ Aranibanidebe Abdulbasit and Akobada Ismail first and second respectively in the Digital Presentation Competition.

Oriwu Senior Model has distinguished herself from other schools in Ikorodu and Lagos State in general.

THE PRINCIPAL POSES WITH THE CREATIVE YOUNG EDUCATORS l

Earlier this morning, some young yet vibrant teachers posed with the number one teacher, Mrs. Iyabo Idowu Elusakin of Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu to mark the resumption for the second half of the first term.

The atmosphere was cordial and relaxed for everyone as she poses with each educator.

THREE IN ONE CELEBRATIONS!!!

The month of october is a great one for all of us at Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu.

The school continues to stand tall in academic excellence in the entire EDUCATION DISTRICT 2 STAFF & FRIENDS and Lagos State in general.

Frame One: Aluko Rhoda and Ajibefun Oluwajomiloju came first in the National Festival of Arts and Culture Cultural Quiz Competition. The girls will represent Lagos State in Enugu State at the federal level.

Frame Two: Owolewa Maryam came first in the Eko Schools Arts and Crafts Competition.

Frame Three: Oyenuga Farihan was the First Runner up in the ICAN Secondary School Quiz Competition.

These wins are a testament to the enduring legacy of the teachers and management of the school who continue to prioritize the excellence over mediocrity. It's noteworthy to acknowledge the unrelenting efforts of the Lagos State Government on education.

Official Badging of Prefects for the 2025/2026 Academic Session

The entire Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu was agog earlier this morning when the Prefects for the 2025/2026 Academic Session were badged in honour and academic excellence.

The badging ceremony was led by our indefatigable principal, Mrs. Iyabo Idowu Elusakin, the management staff and teachers of the school.

The Prefects were reminded of the need to be on top of their games in discharging their duties while maintaining discipline and highest level of academic success.

Some of the big guns amongst the Prefects are;
1. Onabanwo Quyum - The Senior Prefect Boy
2. Ajibefun Oluwajomiloju - The Senior Prefect Girl
3. Pelewura Abdulrahman - The Assistant Senior Boy
4. Aluko Rhoda - The Assistant Senior Girl

CELEBRATING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE!!!

The entire Oriwu Senior Model College Staff and Students celebrate the academic achievement of our Headboy, Bada Abdulsalam, who scored a staggering 344 in the just concluded 2025 JAMB (UTME) Examination.

We equally celebrate other students who scored 291, 255, 248, 222, 220 to mention but a few.

We pray your WASSCE results would break generational records.

The Premiere College in Ikorodu, Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu, has achieved a new feat among the schools in EDUCATION DISTRICT 2 STAFF & FRIENDS and Lagos State at large.
The school has carved a niche for herself in excellence and dedication to nurturing leaders of tomorrow. This commitment has continued to earn the citadel of learning recognition nationally and internationally.

In 2016 and 2017 respectively, the school won the AfricaTop Schools Awards for the Top Performing School of the Year.
To God be the Glory, for His Mercies endureth forever, the school has emerged as the 2025 Top Performing School of the Year in the Senior School category while our amiable principal, Mrs Iyabo Elusakin Iyabo Idowu Elusakin, emerged as the 2025 Outstanding Principal of the Year and she was equally inducted into Africa Top Schools Hall of Fame.

This achievement is a testament to the incredible efforts of the Lagos State Government towards the improvement of quality education in Lagos State under the leadership of His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mr. Toyin Alli Balogun, the award-winning Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Adekanye Anike, one of the awardees (hearty cheers on the well-deserved recognition) and the visionary principal of Oriwu Senior Model College, Mrs. Elusakin Iyabo Agnes.

The reward of hard work is more work.
