ENGINEERING STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION ASSOCIATION CROWNS AKWAPOLY DEPUTY RECTOR PATRON

The executives of Engineering Students' Association, Akwapoly Chapter paid a courtesy Visit to the Deputy Rector of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Engr (Dr) Okon. E Osung today in his office.

The president of the association Rt. Hon Mbuotidem Okoko, while addressing the Deputy Rector appreciated him for granting the School of Engineering the privileged of being with him.

He also went further to commend Him for creating the Engineering Students Association (ESA) to foster peace, unity and development among the engineering students and also went further to intimate him on the problems faced by the students as well as the projects which the Association are embarking on.

Having seen his selfless humanitarian services towards the growth of the schools of Engineering and also being the man that brought forth the Association, The Executives of the school of Engineering unanimously crowned the Deputy Rector as the PATRON of the Association.

The Vice President of the association Hon. Uduak Atangedi also expressed her gratitude to the Deputy Rector for leaving a legacy for the engineering students to follow his footprints.

In response, the Deputy Rector, Engr (Dr) Okon E. Osung expressed delights for the recognition.

"I so much appreciate you all for honouring me today as the Grand Patron of the Engineering Students' Association, I'm so much grateful" he said.

He also admonishes the Association to be very serious in their respective academic pursuit stretching the importance of quality education to an individual and the society in diaspora citing the needs for students to embark on Excursions, Sites visits, etc. and also embrace peace and unity among themselves.

The president in his closing remark thanked the Deputy Rector for always attending to the need of the students and for his kind advice.

𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡, 𝗔 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗡𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗛.

Easter season is a time for Christians to embrace our faith and rejoice in the glory of Christ resurrection. Easter is also an occasion for hope and celebration in Christians kingdom.

Since today marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, also known as resurrection Sunday or Easter Sunday; I therefore use this occasion in reminding us to be sensitive to our fellow students who are struggling, those who have lost their academic sponsors, parents who are struggling with child care issues and those struggling to pay bills as well as putting food on their table, By giving them new hope, new sense of belonging, knowing that it was through "LOVE" that Jesus Christ sacrifice for us. Let's reciprocate same love to our fellow students, our neighbors, and society at large.

I pray your Easter be bright with hope and joy of our risen saviour, Amen.
