Dear Officers and Men of the Nigerian Legion,

As we gather to celebrate the joyous occasion of Easter, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and appreciation for each and every one of you. This sacred season serves as a reminder of the immense sacrifices made on our behalf by our saviour Jesus Christ and the boundless love that surrounds us.

Easter is a time of renewal, of rebirth, and of hope. It is a time to reflect on the profound significance of the Resurrection and its message of redemption and salvation. As members of the Nigerian Legion, entrusted with the noble duty of serving our nation and community, let us draw strength from this message as we continue our mission with unwavering dedication and commitment.

In the face of challenges and adversity, it is our resilience and unity that sustain us. Together, we stand as a formidable force, ready to uphold the values of integrity, honor, and duty that define us. Certainly! Here's a brief report on the friendly football match played today 13th October 2023 at St. Michael Mini-Stadium, in first-leg encounter between Ogun and Lagos states commands:

In an exciting friendly football match held today at St. Michael Mini-Stadium in Ota Ogun State, between Ogun and Lagos states commands, it was a faced off in a thrilling encounter.

Lagos emerged victorious with a convincing scoreline of 4-1.

The match kicked off at 4:00 PM and progressed with high energy and enthusiasm from both teams. It was a thrilling display of skill and teamwork. Ogun opened the score line even in the face of pressure and dominance from Lagos.
While still in the first-half, it was not long that Lagos mounted additional pressure, dominate the first half and fought back valiantly, scoring an equaliser and top it to make up two goals.

Playing against home advantage and all odds, Lagos displayed superior skills of the "Center of Excellence" such that as the regulation time approached its end, the Lagos team scored two more goals, securing their victory. The match ended at approximately 5:40 PM after an intense 90 minutes of play.
It was a friendly but competitive encounter, and both teams showcased their talents on the field, making it an enjoyable spectacle for the spectators. Lagos demonstrated their football prowess and left the field with a well-deserved win.

The Lagos State Deputy Commandant, ACG Opeyemi Augustine (General POPO), who monitored the event both through several phone calls and the State Director of Admin, CC (Col) ADEBAYO David, expressed much ecstacy and gave commendation to the Lagos Team and officials: the Director of Sport, DCC (Lt.Col) Oyewole Olusegun; the Commander, Badagry-2 Division, DCC (Lt.Col) Moses TIAMIYU; the Medical Corps Team led by CC (Dr.) Bunmi Nwagbo and ACC Yousouph Joseph, with Officers and Men of the Lagos State Command.

The returned match is expected to hold in Lagos State at a date and venue to be announced soon.

The State Commandant Nigerian Legion Corps Of Commissionaires Lagos State ACG OPEYEMI A I congratulated Nigerians on the 63rd Independence Day anniversary, saying the country remains great and full of potential, irrespective of its current challenges of nationhood and development.

A release by Sector Commander I O Success, the OC Admin to the Commandant reads: “I join Mr. President, Men of the Nigerian Legion and the rest of the country to felicitate our compatriots, especially the CorpsofCommissionaires, on the 63rd independence anniversary. There is no pretending that our country is undergoing a truly challenging phase in national development. However, I am upbeat that we will emerge better, stronger, more united and prosperous as a people.

“We may not be where we want to be, but our country is definitely neither stagnant nor hopeless. With more dose of unity, patriotism, discipline, positive disposition, and belief in the strength of our diversity and ingenuity as a people, we will attain our full potential as the largest nation of black people in the world.

“I, therefore, congratulate Mr. President, identify with and acknowledge his strides in infrastructural development, and the efforts to curtail insecurity while fostering national peace and stability. Nigerian Legion Corps Of Commissionaires and our administration will always show a good example in how to live and grow together in peace and harmony,” the Commandant said in his Independence Day statement.
