Strengthening grassroots planning requires more than good policies — it requires reliable data and the institutional capacity to put that data to work.

The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, convened Heads of Planning, Research and Statistics from the 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs for a capacity-building engagement focused on strengthening data generation, management and utilisation.

Through technical sessions, knowledge sharing and practical discussions, participants explored ways to improve the quality and use of data for better planning, budgeting, policy formulation and service delivery.

Building stronger institutions for a more data-driven Lagos.

At the Y2026 Monitoring and Evaluation Stakeholders' Forum, the Registrar-General of the Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria, Mr. Henry Ifeanyi Mbadiwe Henry Ifeanyi Mbadiwe commended the Lagos State Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget for its commitment to excellence, professionalism and capacity development.

He also acknowledged the Ministry's leadership in promoting professional standards, noting that the Honourable Commissioner, the Permanent Secretary and members of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department are Chartered Members of the Institute.

Convening the right stakeholders is essential to delivering better outcomes for Lagos.

We convened the Y2026 Monitoring and Evaluation Stakeholders’ Forum, bringing together government institutions, development partners, academia, civil society organisations, and the private sector to strengthen evidence-based governance and reinforce our shared commitment to sustainable development.

Under the theme, “Leveraging Monitoring and Evaluation to Advance Shared Prosperity: Chart the Course, Track the Result, Share the Prosperity,” the forum provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration focused on improving public sector performance and ensuring that policies, programmes, and investments deliver measurable results for Lagosians.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the entire MEPB family LASG MEPB, especially the Monitoring and Evaluation Department, for their dedication and hard work in delivering a successful forum.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to the Chairman, Lagos State House Committee on Economic Planning and Budget, Hon. Saad Olumoh lukman Olumoh, for his invaluable insights and steadfast support.
