Ojenpetu is a town located in Osun state southwestern Nigeria, known for its rich history and cultural significance.

Founding and Early History
Ojenpetu was founded in the 2025 by Oluoje Adeyinka Adeshina Obawale as warrior and his Chiefs from various Yoruba towns, including ipetumodu Osogbo, Isagamu, and Ara. The town quickly grew into a major center of trade, commerce, and agriculture.

After Fulani Arms Attacked Yoruba people in Gadumo lokoja area kogi state in 2021/2022, Ojenpetu continued to grow and develop. Oluoje Adeyinka Adeshina Obawale Biography

Adeyinka Adeshina Obawale was installed as Oba Aala Obatala of Origbomeje in Ife North LGA, Osun State, in 2018 by O.O.O Dada, the Obalesun Obatala of Ife. In 2020, HRH Dauda Adamo, the Etus-Ankuri of Gadumo, invited him to become the Oba Yoruba of Gadumo, Ajaokuta Local Government, Kogi State. Upon his installation, the people of Gadumo wanted to turban him with a Muslim Lawani, but he declined, affirming his traditional Yoruba heritage.

Notably, Oluoje Adeyinka Adeshina is not the only Oba Yoruba in the northern part of Nigeria, particularly in Kogi State. Other notable Obas include Oba Yoruba of Lokoja, Alhaji Audu Bello Oke, who serves as the Chairman of the Council of Obas in the Lokoja area, and hails from Ogbomoso. There are also the Oba Yoruba of Adankolo, Oba Yoruba of Zariji (Kabba Junction), and Oba Yoruba of Ganaja, they're all turban with Muslim ceremonial Lawani

HRH Dauda Adamo then advised him to receive the Royal tools from Ile-Ife, the ancestral homeland of the Oluoje lineage. Accordingly, he traveled to Ile-Ife, where he met HRM Oba Sikiru Adeniji Adeyeba, the Olojudo of Ile-Ido, Ife. On October 6, 2021, the Olojudo crowned him as the Olu-oje of Ojenpetu Yoruba Community in Gadumo, Kogi State, and the Arole Olu-oje worldwide.

*Challenges and Return to Ile-Ife*

Due to threats from armed bandits, kidnapping, and killing in Gadumo, Oluoje Adeyinka Adeshina led the Yoruba community back to Ile-Ife and established the Ojenpetu settlement under HRM Oba Taiwo Michael Odedoyin, the Olomoni of Okuomoni, Ife Kingdom.

- *Royal Appointment and Reign:* Nominated as the 1st Oba Yoruba of Gadumo and Custodian of Yoruba Tradition and Culture of Gadumo, Lokoja Area, Ajaokuta LGA, Kogi State, on February 5, 2021. Crowned on October 6, 2021, by HRM Oba Sikiru Adeyeba Adeniji Olojudo, Ido, Ife, Osun State.

"OJENPETU (OJE, IPETU)

The Ojenpetu people returned home under the leadership of Adeyinka Adeshina, who hailed from Ipetumodu town. Initially, they settled in Gadumo before moving to ife with the Yoruba people. However, due to a crisis triggered by armed bandits, kidnapping, and killings, they were forced to relocate.

Oluoje, a renowned Yoruba traditionalist leader and farmer, played a pivotal role in guiding his people. The name "Ojenpetu" originates from "Oje Ipetu," meaning the settlement of the Oje Ipetu people, which was later shortened to Ojenpetu for ease of pronunciation.

The Ojenpetu community is blessed with remarkable individuals, including farmers, engineers, traders, and educated professionals. To the Ojenpetu people, Oluoje Adeyinka Adeshina Obawale is a hero and a brave leader who brought them back to Ile-Ife to settle in peace amidst crises, particularly against banditry, kidnapping, and killings that threatened the Yoruba people in Gadumo, Kogi State.

As a committed leader, Oluoje Adeyinka Adeshina Obawale prioritized the safety and well-being of his people, defending them against intruders. We pray for his continued leadership and protection.

What a wonderful visit! 🙏🏽 It's great to hear that the students from Ondo Town had a warm and productive conversation with Oba Adeyinka Adeshina Obawale, the Olu-Oje of Ojenpetu. It's fantastic that they're learning about Yoruba history, heritage, and culture from the Custodian of Yoruba Tradition himself!

The Moremi Ajansoro Shrine is a significant cultural site, and it's wonderful that the Olu-Oje took the students there. Moremi's story is an inspiration to many, and it's great that the students got to learn about her bravery and sacrifice.

It's clear that the Olu-Oje is passionate about sharing Yoruba culture and traditions with the younger generation, and it's heartwarming to see him engage with students from other towns. Everybody have his own Right in his Domain

"Ogunsua of Modakeke and Olomoni of Okuomoni are both Part 2 Obas ruling their respective territories in Osun State, Nigeria. Ogunsua governs Modakeke in Ife East Local Government Area, while Olomoni rules Okuomoni in Ife North Local Government Area.

Given this, it's unclear why Ogunsua is attempting to claim Okuomoni as part of his territory. Olomoni has rightful authority over his territory, and Oluoje and Ojenpetu communities fall under his jurisdiction, not Ogunsua's.

The people of Modakeke, being educated and prominent, may want to advise their leader, Oba Toriola Joseph, to respect Olomoni's territorial rights and refrain from disputing Ojenpetu community, which is under Olomoni's domain."

The issue he has with Modakeke is that the Ogunsua of Modakeke allegedly sent Modakeke youth leaders and thugs to kill him, and the report is with the Osun State Commissioner of Police.
