CHAPTER ONE: ABDUL-HAKEEM AS A PUPIL.
…walaa kinna Llaaha Yamunnu 'alaa mon Ya shaa…
(…but Allah gives His Blessings to whomever He pleases…) Q14:11.
It is He who makes independent decisions which no one can challenge.

"What is your name?"
"Ta na eee … Buyam!" Everyone burst out with laughter..
Little Maryam is a funny, cute two year old girl. She is the last child of the Yahya family. "No! Your name is Maryam." Her elder sister, Aminat, corrected her for the umpteenth time.
"Ta na … Buyam." Maryam, the family munchkin, who refused to be called any other name apart from "Buyam", replied in her tiny voice to the amusement of her family.
Little Maryam is so fond of her elder brother, Bunyan, so much that her first word when she started speaking was his name "Buyam".
Everywhere Bunyan went, little Maryam was always behind him. As the first child of the family, he usually helps his mother in the kitchen and you can guess who his assistant always is…Maryam!
Bunyan also loved his younger sister dearly. No one could come in between them; not even Aminat, her elder sister.
"Bunyan!" His mother called.
"Yes Mum."
"Rush down to Umm Farhan's home before she leaves for work. Let her know that the book l ordered for her —Tawhid of Allah— will be delivered by two p.m. today."
"Okay, Mum."
He walked towards the door. Little Maryam was already dragging her hijab over her head and running after her brother.
"Oh no Maryam! You can't go with your brother," Bunyan's Mom bent to pick her little girl but she wiggled out of her grasp.
"Buyam! Buyam!" She cried, raising her hands.
Now at the door, Bunyan looked back at her.
"Don't worry, l will come home very soon." He hurriedly pulled the door close but little Maryam's fingers were already at the edge.
"No!"
"No! Wait!" AbdulHakeem jerks awake with his right arm up in the air as if to stop the door from closing. It took him a second before he realised he was in his room.
…muttering his Du'a upon waking up
"Alhamdu liLlaahil-lathee AAafanee fee jasadee waradda 'AAalayya roohee wa-athina lee bithikrih."
All praise is for Allah who restored to me my health, returned my soul and allowed me to remember Him.
