*Toward Kwara North Senate: Engr. Taoheed Daod Toyin Engages Party Executives, Seeks Unified Support*

In continuation of his grassroots consultations ahead of his senatorial ambition, Engr. Taoheed Daod Toyin paid a strategic visit to party executives across key wards in Moro Local Government, stating that his mission was to seek prayers, consultations, and the support of party leaders and stakeholders.

In his remarks, the Ajanaku Ward Chairman, Mr. Nurudeen Alate, eulogised the aspirant, urging him to remain attentive to the voice of the people and to work diligently for the overall development of the senatorial district.

Also speaking, the Assistant Youth Leader from Okemi Ward, Mallam Raheem Safiq Ajadi, offered prayers for the success of the aspirant. He further advised Engr. Taoheed to intensify consultations, noting that he is widely loved and comes from a respected family background with a strong legacy.

The Party Vice Chairman, Mr. Olaofe Okadeji, highlighted the remarkable contributions of the aspirant’s father, describing the values he imparted to humanity. He called on all party faithful to rally behind Engr. Taoheed, emphasizing that his candidacy represents a collective “Moro Agenda” that demands unified support, especially as he remains the only aspirant from the area.

In a similar vein, the Party Treasurer, Hon. Salman Amidu Akeju, solicited full support for the aspirant and encouraged him to sustain his good works and commitment to the people.

The Chairman of Abati Alara Ward, Mr. Yunusa Ajadi Edaolaropin, commended Engr. Taoheed’s track record and urged him to remain focused and resolute in pursuing his ambition to the very end. He also offered prayers for his success.

KWARA GUBERNATORIAL CONTEST: WHY WILL ONILU ABANDON HIS KINSMEN ?
It is a fact that our man, Alhaji Lanre Issa Onilu ranks among the closest Kwarans to the seat of Government in A*o rock.; and so, he is well positioned and privileged to receive feelers on happenings within the corridors of power. It is also a fact that his journalist-technocracy makes him to be dogged in political calculations. So, it beats no one’s imagination to see ‘a call for understanding’ release from him, which centers on: one, his throwing-in the towel on his gubernatorial ambition; and two, his decision to “rally behind the APC former state chairman, Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB)”. Both decisions are definitely in exercise of his freedom to personal choices. Afterall, its out of his volition that he entered into the race two weeks ago. So, it is within his whims and caprices to unwind the plans. As the Yorubas would say, “taa bani eegun eni o joo, ta si tuni kojo mo, kosi eni to le mu nis ii”
However, the abortion of the 20days old gubernatorial ambition conception (14th march- 2nd April,2026) leaves a lot to be desired. One would have expected Onilu to consider the corporate interest of his own Kwara Central constituency to weigh his alignment. In the last couple of days, the social and regular media has been awash with rumor, that Gov AA is fronting for A*o rock endorsement of a Kwara northerner for the plum job. Though, that remains just what it is, ’rumor’. But every rumor is ingrained with an element of truth, even if it is as tiny as the mustard seed. Onilu’s queue behind BOB of southern extraction therefore amounts to a political coup d’etat against Abdulrahman, his own kinsman and leader of his party. But that is even not as important as the backstabbing that his public declaration is to Kwara central, his own home. SEN. SADIQ UMAR PAYS SOLIDARITY VISIT TO COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY RECENT ATTACKS IN KAIAMA LGA

- Appreciates Gov. AbdulRazaq, President Tinubu, and Law Enforcement Agencies for Restoring Peace to Communities

In a heartfelt move, the Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Sadiq Suleiman Umar, paid a condolence and solidarity visit to communities in Kaiama Local Government Area recently affected by tragic attacks by bandits that claimed lives and disrupted livelihoods.

Accompanied by community Leaders, Youth representatives, Women and Stakeholders, Senator Sadiq visited the grieving families and community leaders in the affected areas. The visit was marked by deep expressions of sorrow, encouragement, and firm reassurance of the government's commitment to the security and well-being of the people.

As part of his visit, Senator Sadiq and his entourage also stopped at the Kaiama Local Government Secretariat, where they were warmly received by the Vice Chairman on behalf of the LGA Chairman. The meeting provided a platform for further engagement and briefing on local efforts being made to sustain peace in the communities.

Addressing the affected communities, Senator Sadiq condemned in the strongest terms the senseless killings and acts of violence that recently plagued the peaceful areas. In his remarks, Senator Sadiq appreciated the swift intervention of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, whose proactive response helped to contain the situation and prevent further escalation. He specifically acknowledged the Governor’s provision of necessary logistics and motorcycles to aid security personnel in navigating the difficult terrains of the affected areas - an intervention that has significantly improved the mobility and efficiency of law enforcement operations on ground.

Kwara Govt donates 150 off-road motorcycles to Nigerian Army

•LGAs acquire 320 motorcycles to boost vigilantes' security operations

In a bid to further strengthen security operations and maintain peace across Kwara State, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led Kwara State Government has donated 150 off-road motorcycles to the Nigerian Army.

The motorcycles are expected to enhance troops' mobility and effectiveness, particularly in rugged terrains such as forests, where non-state actors may be hiding with intent to destabilise the peaceful atmosphere of the state.

This strategic intervention follows recent reports of the disturbances of non-state actors in parts of Kwara South and Kwara North.

In response, on Monday, April 21, 2025, Governor AbdulRazaq led a high-powered joint security delegation on an operational assessment tour to the Kaiama Local Government Area in Kwara North.

Within 24 hours of the tour, the Governor also held a strategic meeting with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, in his office at Ahmadu Bello House, Ilorin, who assured him of the Army’s readiness to collaborate with other security agencies to restore peace in the affected areas.

Governor AbdulRazaq has consistently supported the security agencies across the state. A few months ago, his administration donated vehicles and motorcycles to the 22 Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army.

Meanwhile, in a complementary move, local government authorities across the state have also acquired 320 motorcycles for strategic deployment of vigilante operatives, further consolidating Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s commitment to a peaceful and secure Kwara State.

Governor AbdulRazaq holds strategic meeting with Chief of Army Staff in Kwara

In his continued effort to maintain the peace and tranquillity of the state, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, yesterday held a strategic meeting with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, in his office in Ahmadu Bello House, Ilorin, following the recent activities of non-state actors in parts of Kwara North and Kwara South.

Earlier, Governor AbdulRazaq led a high-powered joint security delegation to conduct an operational assessment tour in Kaiama Local Government Area in Kwara North, demonstrating his commitment to maintaining peace in the state and weeding out harmful elements with potential for troubles, particularly in some parts of Kwara South and Kwara North.

After the meeting, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, thanked the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his support for the force over the years, including the vehicles and motorcycles, he recently donated to the 22 Armoured Brigade of Nigerian Army.

Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede assured Governor AbdulRazaq of the force's maximum cooperation with other security agencies in helping the Kwara State Government under his leadership stem the tide of security threats in the state, particularly in Kwara North and Kwara South. He added that peace is being restored to affected areas.

Governor AbdulRazaq has proven time and again that protecting the lives and properties of Kwarans is his primary responsibility. From 2019 to date, he has consistently supported and encouraged the security agencies in the state to strengthen Kwara's security architecture and maintain its peace and harmony.

Governor AbdulRazaq's numerous interventions, including vehicles and motorcycles that he donated to the security agencies, have commendably assisted the security personnel in the state in combing the forests and destroying the hideouts of potential security threats.
