In the build up to February 21st, 2026 Area Council Election, the Commission has commenced the PVC collection exercise of more than 128 thousand voters across the 62 Registration Areas (Electoral Wards) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The exercise, which is a key component of the election process, started on Thursday, 22nd January 2026 at the Registration Area level in the FCT, and will run through to Monday, 26th January, 2026, from 9.00am to 3.00pm daily. The PVC collection will continue at the INEC offices in the six (6) Area Councils, rounding up a few days to the council poll.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC -FCT, Malam Aminu Kasimu Idris, at a recent stakeholders' engagement stated that a total of 128,396 PVCs are available for collection for newly registered voters as well as voters that requested for transfers and updates to their registration details. He added that PVCs from previous registration exercises are also available for collection.

Many Nigerians know there's a problem with the system, but they don't believe they can change the system.

All the system needs to change is a voice and that voice is a vote.

Every citizen eligible resident of the Federal capital territory has a voice. On the 21st of February 2026, you can either choose to use your voice or not. The former is a better choice...

This upcoming FCT Area Council elections, no gree for that bus aunty.

Discouraging a patriotic citizen from participating in democratic processes is indirectly telling them to be silent.

Report that bus aunty in the comments.

When parents encourage children to cheat in exams, they unknowingly plant the seeds of the corruption they later complain about.
From Primary 6 to university level, the habits we normalize in childhood grow into the character we see in adulthood.
As Dr. Charles Apoki warned, electoral malpractice doesn’t begin at the polling unit — it begins at home.
If we want clean elections tomorrow, we must raise children who value integrity today.

Inspired by the message of Dr. Charles Apoki (2023)

Vote buying steals our future one small bribe at a time.
Your vote is worth more than ₦5,000, a bag of rice, or any empty promise.
Choose dignity. Choose your future. Choose Nigeria.

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf — Africa’s first female President.

Upon taking office, Liberia had huge external debt and a broken economy. Sirleaf made debt forgiveness and macroeconomic stabilisation a top priority.

For example, the U.S. cancelled the ~$391 million Liberia owed.

Later, Liberia qualified for the HIPC (Heavily Indebted Poor Countries) initiative and got large debt cancellation (~US$1.2 billion plus other deals) under her watch.

This economic renewal helped provide breathing room for investing in infrastructure, social services and governance reforms.

Another clear proof of what women can achieve when given the opportunity to lead.
Competence has no gender

Women deserves a sit at the leadership table. Let's join hands together to create a sit for them.
