Kwara Speaker mourns Jagumon of Ilorin Emirate

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and APC Governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has mourned the Jagumon of Ilorin Emirate, Alh. Mohammed Nuhu Alabi Popoola, describing his passing as a great loss.

Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu commiserates with the Emir of Ilorin, the Jagumon family, and the Ilorin community.

The Speaker prays to Allah to forgive the late Alhaji Jagumon and grant him Aljanat Firdaus.

Kwara Speaker commiserates with Adabiyyah family as Sheikh Abdulqodir passes away

The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly and APC Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has extended condolences to the Adabiyyah family over the passing of their leader, Sheikh Abdulqodir Kamaldeen Al-Adaby.

Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu described the death of Sheikh Kamaldeen as a monumental loss not only to the Adabiyyah family but also to the Ilorin Emirate and the Muslim community as a whole.

The Speaker specifically commiserates with the family of the deceased, the Emir of Ilorin, the Ilorin Emirate community, and the Ansarul Islam family worldwide.

On behalf of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Tenth Legislature, Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu prays that Allah forgives Sheikh Abdulqodir Kamaldeen and grants him Aljanat Firdaus, and gives the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss.

Kwara Speaker congratulates Muslim faithful on Eid, prays for peace, endless blessings

The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has congratulated the Muslim faithful on the occasion of the Eidul-Kabeer festival, 1447 AH.

Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu, who is also the All Progressives Congress Governorship candidate in the 2027 general election, prayed for Allah's continuous blessing and peace in Kwara and across Nigeria.

"As we celebrate this blessed Eidul-Kabeer, I extend my warmest greetings to every Kwaran at home and abroad. I pray for peace and endless blessings upon our dear state and nation."

The Speaker also enjoined Muslims to reflect on and carry the lessons of sacrifice, tolerance, obedience, endurance, and compassion beyond the festive period, and always be their brothers' keepers while remembering those who are less privileged.

The APC Governorship candidate therefore enjoined Muslims to remember their leaders in prayer for divine wisdom and direction as they work towards moving the state and nation forward.

Kwara Speaker celebrates Sen. Khairah AbdulRazaq on Birthday

The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has extended his congratulations to Senator Khairah AbdulRazaq-Gwadabe on her birthday anniversary.

Hajia AbdulRazaq-Gwadabe who served as a distinguised Senator of the 4th Republic is the daughter of the late AGF AbdulRazaq, the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria from the northern region.

Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu lauded Senator AbdulRazaq-Gwadabe as an exemplary figure and a pride to the womenfolk, highlighting her substantial contributions as a lawmaker, public servant, and community leader at both state and national levels.

On behalf of myself, Principal officers, Honourable Members, management and staff of the Kwara State House of Assembly, I felicitate with our revered royal father, Maimartaba Sarkin Ilory, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on the occasion of his 86th birthday.

We are proud and happy to be associated with the numerous achievements and successes that the Ilorin Emirate and, indeed, the entire Kwara State have recorded during the peaceful and impactful reign of His Royal Highness.

We are delighted that the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State as a whole have continued to witness tremendous infrastructural development during the reign of His Royal Highness, especially in the almost seven years of the people-oriented administration of the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum.

It is noteworthy and gladdening that the Emir of Ilorin had been at the vanguard of promotion of peace, harmony and development, not only in the Ilorin Emirate, but Kwara and Nigeria at large.

Welcome to the Plenary Proceedings of the Kwara State House of Assembly for Tuesday, 21st April, 2026.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu presided.

The Rt. Hon. Speaker read the opening prayer.

The Plenary Votes and Proceedings of Thursday, 16th April, 2026, was examined and approved.



ORDER OF THE DAY

Report

The Report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation on the Kwara State Procurement (Amendment) Bill, 2026 was presented laid on the Table of the Honourable House by the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation Hon. Arinola Fatimoh Lawal (Ilorin East), Seconded by Hon. Abdulraheem Medinat Motunrayo (Lanwa/Ejidongari).

Thereafter, the Honourable House considered the Report at the Committee of Whole.

After the Consideration of the Report at the Committee of whole, the Clerk to the House was directed to read the Bill the third time, and thereafter passed through third Reading and final passage.

The Clerk to the House was directed to produce clean copies of the Bill for the Governor's assent.

ADJOURNMENT

The motion for Adjournment was moved by the House Leader, Hon. Magaji Oba Abdulkadir ( Ilorin Central), Seconded by Hon. Mohammed Baba Salihu (Okuta/Yashikira).
