BREAKING News!!!
Buhari of Plotting To Arrest Me On False Charges Like Saraki. - Obasanjo.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has accused the Buhari administration of plotting to slam false charges on him, to pave the way for his indefinite detention.

The former leader said the government was planning to use fake documents and witnesses against him.

Mr Obasanjo said this in a statement by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Friday.

The claim is the latest twist after weeks of bitter exchanges between the two leaders, who fell apart after Mr Obasanjo accused Mr Buhari or ineptitude and corruption, and advised him not to seek reelection.

Mr Buhari responded recently by accusing his predecessor of frittering away $16 billion on phoney electricity projects. Mr Obasanjo hit back at the “ignorant” claim.

Speaking via his aide on Friday, the former president said plans to silence him were in two fold, among which is a plot to cause the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to reopen investigation into the activities of his administration.

He said the Buhari administration had also perfected a plan to use fake documents and witnesses against him. He said this will be a re-enactment of the Abacha era in which he (Obasanjo) was detained on trumped up charges.

The presidency could not be immediately reached for comments.

The former president said he had been told that his name was on the government’s “watch list”, and that the security of his life cannot be guaranteed.

He however said no amount of campaign of calumny, no matter how well contrived, orchestrated or marketed would deter him from speaking out.

“Since Chief Olusegun Obasanjo declared in his State-of-the-Nation Special Statement on January 23, 2018, the desperation to frustrate, intimidate and blackmail him into abandoning his divine mandate to protect the rights of the people to better life and living continued unabated and has even taken a bizarre dimension,” the statement said.

The statement said the first option to silence him was to seize his international passport and clamp him into detention indefinitely, in order to prevent him from further expressing angst on the “pervasive mediocrity in the quality of governance, economic management and in the protection of lives and property by the Government”.

Part of statement is below:

‘Impeccable security sources have alleged Chief Obasanjo’s name is on their Watch List and that the security of his life cannot be guaranteed. According to these informants, many of who are in the top echelon of the Nation’s security management and close to the corridors of power, the operatives are daily perfecting how to curtail the personal liberties of the former President and hang a crime on him’.

‘Ordinarily, we would not have dignified these reports with a response but for the fact that many of these informants are not known for flippant and frivolous talks. Secondly, this Government has demonstrably exhibited apathy, and in some cases, encouraged by its conduct, daily loss of lives and property in many States of the country, the office cannot be indifferent.

“We are currently in a nation where the Number Three citizen is currently being harangued and the Number Four citizen is facing similar threat within the same Government they serve. There is a groundswell of our nationals that live in fear that they could be hounded, harassed, maimed or even killed as the battle for 2019 takes this worrisome dimension.

“For Chief Obasanjo, this is a joke carried too far and being someone who do not act on unofficial information, he had cautioned all informants and adopted a wait-and-see attitude to the be***al propositions allegedly being contemplated to cow, cage and embarrass him.

“The content of the alleged beastly designs, it was learnt are two-fold for now. One, to seize his International Passport and clamp him into detention indefinitely, in order to prevent him from further expressing angst on the pervasive mediocrity in the quality of governance, economic management and in the protection of lives and property by the Government.

“But, since that could expose the Government to a swath of international condemnation, embarrassment and outrage, it is said that another plot being hatched is to cause the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to re-open investigation into the activities of Chief Obasanjo’s administration using false witnesses and documents. This will be a re-enactment of the Abacha era in which Chief Obasanjo was one of the principal victims’.

‘The same EFCC that had conducted a clinical investigation on the activities of Obasanjo in and out of Government, it was said, would now be made to stand down the existing report that gave Chief Obasanjo a clean bill of health on the probes are now to get him indicted, fair or foul for possible prosecution and persecution like it is being done to real and perceived opponents, enemies and critics of this Government’.

‘Dissent is a fundamental principle on which liberal democracy is predicated. A true democrat must be ready to live with and accommodate dissent and opposition. While it is regrettable how the Government has sunk in its shameless desperation to cow opposition, a resort to blackmail, despotism and Gestapo-tactics being employed by the goons of this Government would not hold water. And no government ever remains in power forever.

‘For the record, Chief Obasanjo reiterates his readiness to face probe again after that of the House of Representatives, the Senate, the ICPC, and the EFCC, but before an independent, objective and credible panel of enquiry to account for his stewardship in Government and beyond’.

‘Chief Obasanjo reiterates that he has taken a principled position to ensure that the ship of the Nigerian State does not capsize and he remains steadfast in his resolve to turn the tide of maladministration, poor economic management and rudderless governance model that has tore Nigerians apart on account of religion and ethnicity which is a great threat to our democracy’.

‘We would like the Government and its supporters to understand that no amount of campaign of calumny, no matter how well contrived, orchestrated or marketed would deter Chief Obasanjo from calling a spade by its name. Chief Obasanjo is a patriot whose sole agenda is to ensure that the country’s unity, progress and democracy are not negotiated on the altar of incompetence and provincialism and mediocrity.

‘It is important to point out that Chief Obasanjo is one former President and Head of State who has engaged the current administration privately and in a bilateral manner on several issues of direct interest to the government and other matters of national concern. That channel of private engagement remains open and continues. However, should there be the need for public engagement, the right to free speech will always be exercised and jealously guarded, again in the best interest of Nigeria and the government. - Liberation Movement

Engaging Youths In Politics, Governance, Nigeria's Path To Greatness. --- Olagunsoye Oyinlola

Olagunsoye Oyinlola has lamented the low level of youth participation in politics and governance which is according to him almost non-existent and grossly inadequate noting that the strength of the youths does not only lie in their number but also in the unique agility drawn from youthfulness which easily streghten their political mobility and coverage.

[email protected] learned that Oyinlola spoke at the Osun Youth Economic Summit in Osogbo on Thursday, the ADC chieftain who was the Special Guest of Honour at the summit tagged ‘Advantage: Challenging Today For A Great Tomorrow’ was represented by former Osun state SSG, Alhaji Kazeem Adio. Achieving the much desired good governance requires the dedication and the commitments of the able young and old hands submitting that for the leaders to be effective it is important that they share authority and responsibility with the youths, those who hesitate and fear to share roles and authority and promote exclusive command-and-control monopoly will according to Oyinlola only succeed in clipping away the synergy and the energy of the state.

The elders must recognize the urgent need to harness the bundle of talents of the youths of Osun state and indeed the whole of Nigeria.

There must be conscious effort to engage them appropriately and sufficiently in the task of taking governance to a new height. This will immediately transform the socio-political economy of the state and by extension, Nigeria’ he said. The former governor who urged the religious leaders and the civil society groups to actively engage the youths using different platforms and helping in forming a new and positive culture among the Nigerian youths towards leadership and governance, also spoke on the role the youths must play in order to gain the desired recognition.

The youths must rise up to the challenge, stand up to be counted, speak up to be heard and get positioned to be taken seriously. It is a task that must be done. We all must be steadfast and continue to demonstrate good character in our quest for making positive difference in our dear communities, states and country. We must now, more than ever before demand for the inclusion of the youths in governance because times are fast changing and it is only those in tune with the speed and the dynamics that can properly master and control it’ he stated.

[email protected] gathered that the high -point of the occasion was when a corps member serving in the state, Monday Idiong requested to be granted audience and later described the former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as the hero of the youths in the country and beyond, he hailed the Otta based General for his position that there must be a new Nigeria.

He later presented a big portrait as a gift for the former president while Alhaji Kazeem Adio who received the portrait on behalf of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo thanked the young chap for the gesture. Dignitaries at the event include Femi Durotoye, a serving Commissioner in the state, Mofolake Adegboyega and Pastor Niyi Olanrewaju

I still ponder over Nigeria's current state particularly the political drama as regards 2019 election.

NIGERIA POLITICAL ARENA

GERONTOCRACY has found its way to Nigerian government and politics only to replace GENIOTOCRACY, for, rather than MERITOCRACY to be in practice, TIMOCRACY is the order of the day. We never can tell if "Not too young to run" bill will get the approval of our sage.

The military dictators with their STRATOCRACY came to destabilized our OCHIOCRACY just because of their Krato & Khaki and left DIARCHY in place of our indigenous MONARCHY. Only God knows if our state will not resort to ANARCHY.

The Politicians of today with their KLEPTOCRACY have bastardized our NETOCRATIC practice and natural endowment and they pull away ERGATOCRACY and NOMOCRACY leaving behind anti-bureaucratic practice; ADHOCRACY.

GODFATHERISM with his begotten son KAKISTOCRACY has ruled out ANOCRACY and TECHNOCRACY all in the name of Favoritism, Nepotism and Ethnocentrism. If COMMUNALISM could get its way out of FEUDALISM because of the evils of the CAPITALIST-BOURGEOISIE and DEMOCRACY could change the ways of the AUTHORITARIAN, NAZIST and FASCIST practice; then our Society should give way to NOMOCRACY and DIVINOCRACY.

ARISTOCRACY, PLUTOCRACY, AUTOCRACY, THEOCRACY and all other forms of OLIGARCHY can remedy nothing only to lead us to ANARCHY. Let us give room to DIVINOCRACY under the aegis of ANOCRATIC and TECHNOCRATIC citizens; for this is the only way to weird off KLEPTOCRATIC, BANKOCRATIC and KAKISTOCRATIC people from political power.

DIEKOLA PERSUADES ANGRY SUPPORTERS
" Don't Cry for me; If going to prison will liberate
Osun people from political bo***ge, I surrender my
liberty"
"I am very happy that the Attorney General and
Commissioner for Justice, Bashiru Ajibola after
marathon meeting held last night in government
house, had finally found a pliable Magistrate to
execute Aregbesola's script against me. I am not
deterred!
What worries me is the future of our state and
institutions of our democracy in the hands of these
political vampires. You would recall that about three
Magistrate had rejected the script from the office of
the Attorney General to remand me in prison until a
help came from this young man, Magistrate Ayeni.
What is more curious about today's ruling which I
think should be of utmost concern to all defenders of
democracy, members of the bar and the bench at
large: Magistrate Ayeni (in a civil case) rejected oral
bail application pleaded by my lawyers on health
ground and self-recognizance as two termed
Chairman of Osogbo Local government. Ironically, he
granted oral bail application in a criminal case
brought before his court.
Though I know for certainty that Magistrate must
have been heavily bribed and assured of
unmeritorious promotion before he agreed to read
the script. I am not disturbed that the magistrate
rejected our bail application but it baffles me that the
prosecutor didn't utter a sentence after announcing
appearances in court before our bail application was
rejected.
I know my supporters are burning with anger as a
result of this script acted by the young Magistrate, I
urge you, please, don't cry for me; If going to prison
will liberate Osun people from political bo***ge, I
surrender my liberty!
I am the happiest man today at the risk of sounding
patronizing, the only politician whose balls cannot be
pocketed by a doctorial government.
By the same token, I am the saddest man today, I am
walking into prison with sons of Osogbo elder
statesmen who accompanied me to the premises of
Osun State police command.
What would I tell their fathers? That the man I
introduced to them in 2005 when he was desperately
looking for power had used the same power we all
helped him to secure, to send their sons to prison"
Just for you to read..
