DISTRIBUTION OF SALLAH CLOTHING SUPPORT TO ORPHANS IN JALINGO 1.

Every year during the month of Ramadan, our Honourable member representing Jalingo 1 Constituency, Hon. Umar Adamu Sarki, draws closer to Allah in search of reward by observing the Ramadan fast, distributing food items to the people of the constituency, and providing Salah clothing for orphans, in line with the Prophet’s instruction to support orphans with whatever little one has.

This morning, the Honourable member continued his annual tradition by distributing Salah clothing support to orphans. As he has consistently done every year, he once again extended assistance to about one thousand and six (1,006) orphans, providing each of them with Salah clothing in order to bring joy to their hearts during the Eid celebration.

This act is in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet, who stated that whoever supports an orphan, Allah will in turn support that person at all times. The Honourable member emphasized that he has taken it upon himself as a personal commitment to continue bringing happiness to their hearts, and by the grace of Allah, he will continue this charitable work for them.

The event was held at the main hall of the Muslim Secretariat in Jalingo, Taraba State (Muslim Council, Jalingo, Taraba State). Distinguished guests in attendance included the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government, Hon. Nura Dantsoho, the APC Chairman of Jalingo Local Government the Turakin Muri the Councillor of Mayo Gwai Ward party leaders and other members of the public who graced the occasion.

COMMISSIONING AND OPENING OF A HOSPITAL CLINIC AT UNGUWAN FULANI, NYABUN KAKA.

In an effort to improve the healthcare sector through the provision of hospitals and medicines, the Member of the House of Assembly representing Jalingo 1 Constituency provided a hospital for the people of Unguwan Fulani, Nyabun Kaka, in Mayo Gwai Ward, to enable them to access improved healthcare services within their community.

For a long period, the people of the area had suffered from the absence of a hospital in their locality, which caused great hardship, especially when they had to transport patients over long distances in search of medical attention, particularly at night.

This morning, the Member representing Jalingo 1 Constituency, Hon. Alh Umar Adamu Sarki, commissioned and officially opened the hospital he built for the people of Unguwan Fulani under the Taraba State Government led by Dr. Agbu Kefas, as part of efforts to further strengthen healthcare delivery across the state. The Honourable Member commended the people of Unguwan Fulani, especially the youths of the area, for the support and cooperation they gave from the commencement of the construction to its completion. He also urged them to take ownership of the hospital by being the first to protect, maintain, and make effective use of the facility.

After the speeches, the Honourable Member formally handed over the clinic to the Jalingo Local Government Council for proper management and for the provision of additional equipment to further improve the services of the hospital.
The event took place at the hospital premises and was attended by distinguished personalities, including His Royal Highness, the District Head of Sintali and Sintalin Muri, Hon. Sintali Usman Sa’adu; the Councillor representing Turaki B Ward, Hon. Abdulsalam, who also represented the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government, Hon. Nura Dantsoho; other councillors of Jalingo Local Government; the APC Chairman of Jalingo Local Government; the Director from the Ministry of Health; community leaders; youth leaders of Jalingo 1 Constituency; and other members of the public who graced the occasion.

CONSTITUTIONAL PROCESS FOR APPOINTING A NEW DEPUTY GOVERNOR IN NIGERIA:

The Nigerian Constitution the mother of all laws in Nigeria have provides a clear framework for appointing a new Deputy Governor when the office becomes vacant due to resignation, removal, incapacity, or death. This process, outlined in Section 191 of the Constitution, must be strictly followed:

1. Official declaration of the vacancy

2. Nomination of a candidate by the Governor

3. Approval of the nominee by the State House of Assembly

4. Formal appointment and swearing-in of the new Deputy Governor

Any deviation from this constitutionally mandated process, such as unilateral appointments, acting positions, or political arrangements behind closed doors, is unlawful and unacceptable. The Constitution requires transparency, accountability, and adherence to legislative oversight.

Key points to note:

The Governor cannot unilaterally appoint a Deputy Governor without Assembly approval.

The Constitution does not recognize acting Deputy Governors.

Following due process ensures legitimacy and helps prevent legal and political crises.

To preserve peace and stability in Taraba State, it is essential to uphold the Constitution, follow due process, and ensure that the appointment process is inclusive, fair, and transparent.
