The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) in partnership with World Health Organization (WHO) Nigeria, recently hosted a 2-day national training in Lagos, bringing together journalists and digital influencers to strengthen public health communication on HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).

By equipping them with evidence-based knowledge, NACA is taking a big step toward busting misconceptions, reducing stigma, and driving demand for life-saving HIV prevention services.

Empowering voices, saving lives! 📢 Excited to share highlights from our recent Training of Media Personnel on HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) in Lagos.

The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) alongside key stakeholders, came together in Lagos to develop a national Media Information Toolkit designed to boost Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) awareness and clear up myths around HIV prevention including new options like Lenacapavir from the 17th - 19th August, 2026.

By equipping journalists and social media influencers with accurate, easy-to-use resources, we’re bridging the gap between health science and public understanding to drive real impact on PrEP.

Debunking myths with real facts! 💡 Bad information spreads quickly, but science doesn’t lie.

HIV is manageable with modern treatment. People living with HIV who take daily medication can live long, healthy lives, and when the virus is undetectable, it’s untransmittable (U=U).

Stigma and misinformation cause more harm than fear. Let’s trade myths for truth, get tested, and support each other. ❤️
