GOVERNOR DIKKO RADDA’S 2025 SCORECARD: A YEAR OF IMPACTFUL GOVERNANCE IN KATSINA STATE
The administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State in 2025 has once again achieved a transformative achievements across key sectors aimed at uplifting the lives of Katsina citizens.
The year 2025 marked a period of bold reforms, infrastructural renewal, and people-centered governance under the leadership of Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda. Building on his administration’s commitment to transparency, security, and inclusive development.
Governor Radda implemented landmark policies and projects that impacted key sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, women development, urban renewal, and rural transformation among many more.
This scorecard provides a detailed overview of the achievements, challenges addressed, and measurable progress recorded by the Radda administration throughout 2025, a testament to his vision of repositioning Katsina State for sustainable growth and human capital development.
In the year under review, the Radda-led government declared a State of Emergency on Education, rehabilitated hundreds of schools across all 34 LGAs, and launched a statewide census of Quranic and non-formal Islamic schools to integrate them into strategic planning. The government also prioritized girl-child education, supported girl child and provided digital learning infrastructure.
EDUCATION :--
In the education sector, the government sustained its focus on education by improving learning environments, supporting teachers, and investing in human capital development to secure a better future for Katsina’s children.
The commitment in this sector also include the following
Rehabilitation and construction of primary and secondary school infrastructure
Strengthening of Tsangaya and Islamiyya education through census, data-driven reforms, and integration support
Recruitment and capacity building of teachers
Improved learning environment through provision of instructional materials
HEALTH:-
In the health sector, the government upgraded primary health centres, expanded maternal and child health services, recruited medical personnel, and intensified rural outreach. Health facilities across the state witnessed upgrades, improved access to care, and enhanced community health interventions.
This led to improved healthcare access and better community health outcomes.
Highlight of some of the achievements under this sector include
Upgrade of primary healthcare centres across LGAs
Improved access to essential drugs and maternal healthcare
Strengthening of health workforce and rural health outreach
Increased focus on preventive healthcare and community health awareness
INFRASTRUCTURE AND URBAN DEVT.
Infrastructure and urban renewal efforts saw the construction and rehabilitation of over 500 km of roads, installation of solar-powered streetlights, water projects to modernize urban and rural environments.
AGRIC DEVELOPMENT :-
The administration’s strides in agriculture included the distribution of subsidized inputs, dry-season farming support, and enhancement of farmer cooperatives, which boosted food security and rural livelihoods.
WOMEN AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
On women and youth empowerment, Governor Radda disbursed millions in grants and training through the Katsina Youth Skills Acquisition Programme (KAT-SAP) and the Nigeria for Women Project, directly empowering thousands with skills and capital support.
SOCIAL CARE AND PROTECTION:-
The government also prioritized social Protection, providing relief materials, food items, and zakka support to over 250,000 vulnerable individuals and families, especially during economic hardship.
The administration strengthened its social protection framework through KT-CARES, expanding support for vulnerable groups, small-scale entrepreneurs, and community-based initiatives. Thousands of households benefited from empowerment programs designed to build resilience and economic stability.
E- GOVERNANCE:-
In terms of digital governance, the state launched e-governance initiatives, connected government offices with fibre optics, and digitized internal operations, increasing transparency and service delivery.
the civil service was repositioned to deliver better services to citizens.
SECURITY:-
Governor Radda’s focus on security was reinforced through support for local vigilantes and collaboration with federal security outfits to restore peace, especially in frontline LGAs.
Recognizing security as a foundation for development, the administration strengthened community-based security mechanisms and enhanced collaboration with traditional institutions and security agencies to promote peace and stability.
This can be seen in security Strengthening of Community Watch Corps to complement security agencies. Support for displaced communities and post-conflict recovery efforts in frontline LGAs.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION& CLIMATE ACTION:-
A landmark achievement of 2025 in this sector was the operationalization of the Katsina State Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (KEWMA), demonstrating the government’s commitment to addressing erosion, flooding, and environmental degradation.
INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE & CITIZENS ENGAGEMENT:-
Governor Radda maintained open governance through statewide engagements, consultations, and community outreach across all 34 LGAs, ensuring that governance remains people-focused and inclusive.
*Civil Service Reform*
The Radda Administration deepened public sector reforms aimed at efficiency, transparency, and accountability. Through capacity building, system restructuring, and performance-driven leadership, the civil service was repositioned to deliver better services to citizens.
*Social Care & KT-CARES*
The administration strengthened its social protection framework through KT-CARES, expanding support for vulnerable groups, small-scale entrepreneurs, and community-based initiatives. Thousands of households benefited from empowerment programs designed to build resilience and economic stability.
These efforts reflect a governance style rooted in results, accountability, and equity.
