NANGO Q2 Meeting.

The Office of the Special Adviser on CSO & NGO Coordination, Adamawa State, participated in the Network of Adamawa Non Governmental Organisations (NANGO) Q2 Meeting held on 16 May 2026 at the CISCOPE Office, Karewa.

The meeting brought together civil society and non-governmental organizations to review progress, strengthen coordination, and align activities with government priorities.

NANGO founded in 2017, chaired by Amb. Peter Egwudah and his team of Executives is a constituted voluntary platform set up to support the coordination of Adamawa’s CSOs, align their activities with the state and national priorities and grow the member organisations capacities for better humanitarian and development project outcomes.

The OSA CSO/NGOs and the rest of the Adamawa State Coordination team, remain committed to promoting a coordinated, transparent, and impactful civil society ecosystem in Adamawa State through continued collaboration with NANGO.

As political activities intensify and aspirants continue to declare their interests, the Office of the Special Adviser on CSOs and NGOs to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri recognizes and respects the right of the citizens of Adamawa State to express their voices and opinions.

The administration remains committed to promoting open governance, inclusiveness, and strong partnerships for the development and progress of the state. However, we appeal to all citizens to ensure that their opinions, demonstrations, and protests are expressed peacefully and in an organized manner that will lead to constructive and meaningful outcomes.

Any form of violence or actions that disrupt the peace and daily lives of law-abiding citizens will not be tolerated, and the security agencies of the state will take necessary measures to maintain law and order.

The official launch of the Adamawa State Integrated Coordination Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on 23rd April 2026 marks a landmark achievement in our collective commitment to the people of Adamawa.
Led by the Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration & Humanitarian Services (MRRR-HS) and supported by all State coordination stakeholders Government ministries and departments, SA-CSO,
SCO‑WBDPP; UN; INGOs; NNGOs; CSOs; CBOs; donors; academia; private sector;
traditional & faith‑based institutions; displaced populations and vulnerable host communities).

This SOP is the result of months of consultations, workshops, and collaboration across government institutions, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs, civil society organizations, and community voices.

For the first time, Adamawa State has a unified, state-owned framework to coordinate all humanitarian, early recovery, and development activities across all 21 LGAs, reducing duplication, strengthening accountability, and ensuring that no community is left behind.

The Office of the Special Adviser on CSOs/NGOs is proud to be a part of this framework, affirming our commitment to inclusive and transparent reporting and advocacy for civil society organisations. Putting the people of Adamawa first.

The Office of the Special Adviser on CSOs and NGOs engaged in a High level roundtable event this morning hosted by the Nigerian INGO forum (NIF) as we discussed Strengthening Government Leadership in Humanitarian, Development and Peace in the context of the Humanitarian reset. It was engaging to learn the integrated procedures for Zamfara state and share lessons across His Excellency’s signed State Operational Procedures for Adamawa State platformed by the Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Re-integration and Humanitarian Services -MRRR HS.

His Excellency, Dr Bernard Doro the Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs spoke on the need for state coordination efforts which feed into the national nexus.

Dr Ndubuisi Kanu, Dr Joanne Amara, Alhaji Musa Baba and Mr Abubakar Suleiman were some of the key representatives of the NIF. The Zamfara state delegation was highly represented by the able Commissioner Budget and Planning, Malam Abdulmalik Gajam and key delegates from the state coordination team.

Adamawa State was ably represented by Dr Celine Lowry, ES of Adsema, Ms Asmau Durnin, Special Adviser to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Adamawa State on CSOs and NGOs, Mr Peter Egwudah- Chairman of NANGO, Engr Tijjani Ahmed SSA Office for World Bank Project Coordination, Mr Umar Yahaha- Institutional Strengthening Advisor, NRC/MRRR-HS and Ms Beshi Madwatte Technical Adviser to the Office of the Special Adviser on CSOs and NGOs.

The engagement comes at a critical time for accelerated efforts and responses in humanitarian reset, ensuring that coordination efforts are integrated, practical and aligned to the needs of local communities across the country.
