🇳🇬 Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria!

PLASIEC Chairman, Plangji Daniel Cishak, has congratulated Nigerians on 27 years of uninterrupted democratic governance, calling for unity, equity, fairness, and active citizen participation to strengthen democracy.

He urged leaders to prioritize security, infrastructure, healthcare, youth empowerment, and the inclusion of women and persons with disabilities, while encouraging Nigerians to reject violence and embrace peace, tolerance, and dialogue.

He also called on eligible citizens to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ahead of future elections.

PLASIEC has adjusted the timetable for the 2026 Plateau State Local Government Elections following the enactment of the new Electoral Act 2026.

Political parties can now conduct their primaries from March 7 to April 7, 2026, while the elections remain scheduled for September 9, 2026 across the 17 Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
Key dates for nomination submissions, candidate screening, and campaign activities have also been updated.
