The interventions of the Plateau State Community and Social Development Agency, PLCSDA, are 100% 'demand-driven.' And the entry point is the 'Expression of Interest' raised by intending to benefit the community and Vulnerable groups.

Over the years the Agency has continued to remain focused while at the same time addressing emerging issues, particularly security challenges that often times displaced communities, making those affected lose their livelihoods and housing.

The intervention of Plateau State Community and Social Development in communities that have witnessed security challenges through community housing is a deliberate intervention supported by the Plateau State Government and Partners that 'no one is left behind.'

Community housing refers to housing provided primarily to meet the needs of people who may not be able to afford adequate housing through the private market.

Focuses on providing affordable, safe, and secure housing.
May target low-income families, older persons, people with disabilities, or vulnerable groups.

This can consist of single houses, apartments, or group housing developments.

The advantages of Community housing include improved access to affordable housing, reduced homelessness, strengthened social inclusion and community cohesion, and long-term housing stability and support for vulnerable populations.

PLCSDA is currently supporting vulnerable groups through Community Housing in some communities with a view to enabling them to return to their ancestral homes with ease.

General Manager, PLCSDA, Dauda Dinju, in the company of some management and staff, embarked on spot monitoring to ensure that these interventions are up to standard.

Plateau Strengthens As Plateau State prepares to commence the implementation of the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) 2.0 Programme, efforts are being intensified to strengthen the institutional structures required for effective programme delivery.

One of the key measures undertaken by the State Government is the orientation and induction of personnel who will be responsible for coordinating and implementing activities across the various NG-CARES delivery platforms.

The capacity-building exercise is currently underway through a two-day Staff Orientation and Induction Programme organized by the Plateau State CARES Coordinating Unit. The training is designed to equip staff with the knowledge, skills, and operational framework necessary for the successful ex*****on of NG-CARES 2.0 interventions across the state.

Participants are being exposed to the programme's objectives, implementation guidelines, performance expectations, monitoring mechanisms, and accountability procedures aimed at ensuring efficient service delivery and maximum impact for beneficiaries.

The orientation reflects Plateau State's commitment to effective programme implementation and its determination to leverage NG-CARES 2.0 as a vehicle for improving livelihoods, strengthening resilience, and stimulating economic recovery among vulnerable communities.
