2026 SOUTHWEST SUPA SCREENING EXERCISE COMMENCES IN LAGOS

The 2026 Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) Screening Exercise has officially commenced at the ITF Victoria Island Area Office, Lagos, marking another significant step in the Industrial Training Fund’s commitment to building a globally competitive skilled workforce.

The exercise began with the screening of registered artisans from the Naval Dockyard Apprentice Academy, Victoria Island, Lagos State, who were shortlisted to participate in the programme.

Through SUPA, the ITF continues to identify, assess and prepare skilled Nigerian artisans for national and international opportunities, in line with its mandate of developing the nation’s human resource and supporting Nigeria’s industrial growth.

ITF SUPA Screening Exercise – Day 3

The momentum continues!

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) Screening Exercise has recorded impressive turnout of artisans at the ITF Ikeja Area Office, Lagos, even as it runs into its third day, as participants underwent accreditation, document verification, interviews, practical skill assessments, and data capture.

The strong participation underscores the growing confidence in the SUPA initiative, which is equipping Nigerian artisans with globally competitive skills, promoting entrepreneurship, and strengthening the nation’s skilled workforce.

📍 The screening continues on Friday, 24th July 2026.

Attendance is FREE. Interested artisans are encouraged to come early with the required documents.

A New Chapter for Nigeria’s Skills Development 🇳🇬

Today marks a major milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards building a globally competitive workforce.

The harmonisation approved by the National Council on Skills has resolved the long-standing mandate overlap between the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), creating a clearer and more coordinated framework for skills development.

Under the new arrangement, ITF will lead industry-driven skills development, apprenticeships, artisanship, the Nigerian Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), and other competency-based training programmes, while NBTE will continue to regulate Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions within the formal education system.

This landmark achievement strengthens collaboration, eliminates duplication, and reinforces Nigeria’s commitment to producing a highly skilled workforce aligned with the needs of industry and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Director-General/Chief Executive of ITF, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, has reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to expanding access to globally recognised skills certification, deepening partnerships, and empowering Nigerian youths and artisans with world-class competencies.

Together, we are building a stronger workforce, a more competitive economy, and a more prosperous Nigeria.
