GOVERNOR UBA SANI DIRECTS KADGIS TO TITLE GSS RIGACHIKUN AS A G-ITEM

Following reports of an alleged encroachment on the premises of Government Secondary School, Rigachikun, located along the Kaduna–Zaria Expressway, Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani directed KADGIS to investigate the allegations and give the school a title as a G-item.

This prompted the Director-General accompanied by his management team to visit the school on the 3rd of June 2026 and held a meeting with the school management, representatives of the Parent-Teachers Association (PTA),and community stakeholders.The Director-General informed the stakeholders that the visit was in line with the directive of His Excellency, Senator Uba following the complaint received regarding the alleged encroachment.

The Director-General explained that preliminary findings revealed that the school does not possess a statutory title and that the only portion of land previously excised from the school was allocated to the Federal Ministry of Housing, where a housing estate was subsequently developed.

At the end of the meeting, the Director-General led the stakeholders on a joint inspection of the school premises where the boundaries of the school were identified by the stakeholders, after which KADGIS established and monumented boundary beacons around the school perimeter.
This was done to clearly demarcate and secure the school land against any future encroachment, in compliance with the directive of the Governor.

The Director-General further reiterated KADGIS' commitment to processing a statutory title in favour of the Kaduna State Ministry of Education, with copies to be domiciled with the school management. He noted that this initiative forms part of the Kaduna State Government's broader effort to reclaim, secure, and protect Public Educational Institutions from encroachment further emphasizing that all public schools in the state would be surveyed, demarcated, and issued titles as Government Item (G-ITEM) properties.

The school management, PTA representatives, and community stakeholders expressed profound appreciation for the Director-General's intervention and generosity. They commended KADGIS for its prompt response and pledged their support towards safeguarding the school property.
The stakeholders also conveyed their gratitude to His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, for his visionary policy of demarcating and issuing titles to public schools across Kaduna State, describing the initiative as a significant step towards protecting Educational infrastructure and promoting sustainable development.

As a result of the meeting the School Management was presented with a copy of the offer for the school as a G-item,at the KADGIS office on the 4th of June 2026.

GOVERNOR UBA SANI RETURNS BACK HOUSES TO TSAUNIN KURA COMMUNITY THAT WERE DEMOLISHED BY THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION

After five years of uncertainty and hardship, residents of Tsaunin Kura community in Igabi LGA finally have reasons to smile following the presentation of offer letters to beneficiaries by KADGIS.

The houses had been revoked and demolished by the previous administration, leading to a prolonged period of hardship uncertainty and legal battles for the affected residents. The unfortunate incident reportedly resulted in the loss of five lives and left many families without hope.

Following the assumption of office by Senator Uba Sani and after receiving complaints and appeals from the community, he directed that investigations be conducted and measures taken towards resolving the issue. This effort culminated in the presentation of offers to the first batch of beneficiaries today at KADGIS.

The current phase of the exercise covers homeowners whose houses were demolished, while landowners are expected to benefit in the next phase.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Vice Chairman of the Tsaunin Kura Development Association, Usman Abdurrahman, described the development as a dream come true, noting that many had almost lost hope of ever recovering their properties.

In an emotional speech, he praised the State Government for restoring their homes and commended KADGIS for facilitating the process.

Other beneficiaries also expressed gratitude and offered prayers for the continued success of the administration, which they described as compassionate and responsive to the concerns of the people.

The Director General of KADGIS, Dr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim, explained that communities facing similar challenges would also receive attention in due course and appealed for patience and understanding.

Yesterday, Tuesday, 19th May 2026, was a busy day for stakeholder engagement meetings as several meetings were held with various groups, all with the sole aim of resolving land-related disputes.

The Director General, in his wisdom, proffered solutions to most of the issues, with compensation provided where necessary to the satisfaction of the contending parties.

It is the belief of the DG that resolving issues amicably is always preferable to going through lengthy court processes that may drag on for years.

The stakeholder meetings involved multiple parties and communities from Igabi LGA, as well as farmers from Kaduna North, with most of the engagements ending on a positive note.

This serves as a testament to the ideals of the current administration under the leadership of Uba Sani, which is committed to providing a people-centered government founded on justice and fairness for all citizens of Kaduna State.

A land dispute involving the Nigerian Army, some investors, and local residents in Sakaru, Soba LGA, was today mediated at KADGIS, with all parties expressing satisfaction with the steps taken towards an amicable resolution.

As part of efforts to resolve the matter, parties who had taken the issue to court were encouraged to withdraw their cases to pave the way for the implementation of the resolutions reached.

KADGIS has also placed a restriction on any application covering the entire disputed area pending the achievement of a final resolution.

Further assessments will be carried out to determine the extent of encroachment and address boundary-related concerns.

With these measures in place, it is hoped that the long-standing and complex dispute will be successfully resolved, ensuring that all parties receive what is due to them. Farming activities are also expected to continue uninterrupted as the farming season approaches.

A case of illegal encroachment on a parcel of land located at Kakau along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway in Chikun LGA was today addressed with a view to unraveling the issues surrounding the property and affirming the true ownership status of the land.

Investigations revealed that the land may have been fraudulently sold, while the rightful owner had already applied for a title through KADGIS, with the application still undergoing due process and all relevant documents duly in place.

Following thorough deliberations on the matter, the Director General, in his wisdom, directed for an accelerated issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to the rightful owner. This decisive step is expected to put an end to the illegal encroachment and safeguard the property from further disputes.

A land dispute involving two properties was amicably resolved today following a thorough investigation which revealed a mix up in the charting of both properties.

The incorrect charting led to the misunderstanding between the parties involved, but the issue was successfully unraveled during a stakeholder meeting convened to address the matter.

Following the resolution, both properties will now be issued their rightful titles after a physical inspection is carried out for proper identification and documentation.

As always, KADGIS remains committed to ensuring peaceful resolution of land and property disputes in a fair and transparent manner, to the satisfaction of all parties concerned.

A stakeholder meeting was convened today to address and resolve a long-standing land issue involving Wind Castle Engineering Services Ltd, which had earlier been allocated a Development Lease Agreement (DLA).

However, upon mobilisation to site for commencement of construction, the company encountered several challenges, including multiple litigations and other bottlenecks that hindered the actualisation of the project.

The meeting focused on finding practical solutions to the issues raised and, as always, the Director General of KADGIS came up with a workable approach that was accepted by all parties involved.

The resolution reached will ensure the continuation of the development project while safeguarding the interests of off-takers and other investors involved.

KADGIS also reaffirmed its commitment to issuing offers to all verified off-takers connected to the project, as well as providing compensation where necessary to cover losses incurred.

An issue surrounding a farmland at Unguwar Hazo,Sabon Birni road Igabi LGA was the focus of today's stakeholder meeting whereby a resolution was reached with issue of compensation also discussed.

At the end of the meeting the party involved expressed satisfaction with the swiftness with which this resolution was achieved after the issue has dragged for a long period.

The DG Dr Bashir Garba Ibrahim explained that the offer of compensation was made to avoid a lengthy court process which may not yield the needed result as it's always advisable to go for an out of court settlement if it can be achieved to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
