KDBS and Pathfinder Impact Catalyst Partner to Enhance Community Health Through Data-Driven Mapping Study
KADUNA, NIGERIA – The Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS) has entered into strategic discussions with Pathfinder Impact Catalyst to launch a comprehensive mapping and landscape analysis study. The initiative, titled Community Access to RMNCAH+N Innovations Service, aims to bridge critical gaps in community-based healthcare delivery across Kaduna State.
The engagement, held at the KDBS headquarters, brought together management teams from both organizations to finalize the framework for a study focusing on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health, and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N).
Strengthening the Healthcare Ecosystem
The upcoming study is designed to provide a granular view of the healthcare landscape within three targeted Local Government Areas (LGAs). Key objectives include:
Community Health Worker Mapping: Identifying and tracking community health workers and their functional linkages to formal health facilities.
Service Utilization Assessment: Evaluating the awareness, accessibility, and actual usage of health services by residents.
System Strengthening: Using generated insights to identify delivery gaps and opportunities for more resilient community-level interventions.
Commitment to Data Integrity
Representing the Statistician General of Kaduna State, Dr. Bukar Baba Alhaji, the KDBS management team emphasized that the project's success hinges on technical excellence. The Bureau re-affirmed its commitment to:
Robust Methodologies: Implementing rigorous sampling frameworks and data collection techniques.
Validation Processes: Ensuring all gathered data undergoes strict validation to produce credible, actionable findings for policymakers.
"Reliable, evidence-based data is the cornerstone of effective policy formulation. This collaboration will ensure that health interventions in Kaduna are not just well-intentioned, but targeted and measurable," the management team noted during the deliberations.
Impact and Future Outlook
By prioritizing high-quality data, the partnership seeks to improve informed decision-making and design interventions that directly address the nutritional and reproductive health needs of the most vulnerable populations. Both KDBS and Pathfinder Impact Catalyst underscored that this study will serve as a vital tool for enhancing health outcomes and ensuring that no community is left behind in the state's development agenda.
