Governor Abba K Yusuf has unveiled plans to acquire drones and key logistics to strengthen surveillance and rapid response along the Kano–Katsina border.
The Governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature, confirmed the update on Wednesday.
Governor Yusuf visited JTF bases in Tsanyawa and Shanono following fresh bandit attacks.
He urged residents to assist security agencies with credible information.
The Governor revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu supported Kano’s security request.
He charged the JTF to intensify efforts to rescue the kidnapped victims.
Governor Yusuf condemned the attacks on innocent communities in both LGAs.
He assured families that the abducted residents will return safely, by God’s grace.
The Governor noted that this level of insecurity is new and unusual for Kano State.

According to initial security briefings, about 25 residents were allegedly abducted during the incident, raising serious concerns across the state.
