The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), Dr. Jide Idris, has paid a strategic working visit to Kano State aimed at strengthening health security, improving outbreak preparedness, and enhancing disease surveillance and response.

The visit commenced at the Kano Independent Research Centre Trust (KIRCT), Kwanar Dawaki, where Dr. Idris inspected the state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. He commended the quality of the infrastructure and the institution's technical capacity, describing it as a valuable asset to Nigeria's public health system.

The NCDC delegation later paid a courtesy visit to the Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, where discussions focused on the state's preparedness for potential outbreaks of Ebola Virus Disease and other epidemic-prone diseases.
