SENSITIZATION MEETING WITH KANO STATE SEVEN (7) SELECTED INNOVATORS AHEAD OF THE 2026 NEXTGEN INNOVATION CHALLENGE BOOTCAMP.
The Centre Manager, Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) Kano, Mrs. Fatimah Evuti Mahmud, convened a special sensitization meeting with innovators from across Kano State as part of preparations for the 2026 NEXTGEN Innovation Challenge.
The meeting, held on Monday, 13th July 2026, brought together vibrant young innovators, both men and women, representing diverse sectors of the economy with innovative products and solutions already making significant impact in the marketplace.
The session featured extensive discussions on innovation development, technical frameworks, commercialization strategies, market viability, scalability, job creation, and investment readiness. The objective was to adequately prepare the innovators for the upcoming global competition and position their innovations to attract local and international investors.
During the meeting, each innovator delivered a presentation on their innovation, outlining its uniqueness and impact.
The Centre Manager, supported by members of the management team, carefully reviewed each presentation, provided constructive feedback, and offered strategic guidance aimed at strengthening the participants' pitches and enhancing their competitiveness at the international level.
The NEXTGEN Innovation Challenge is a flagship initiative conceived by the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), Engr. Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji. The programme is designed to identify, nurture, and promote innovative Nigerian youths by providing them with opportunities to showcase their ideas before local and international investors, thereby fostering entrepreneurship, technology commercialization, job creation, and sustainable economic development.
