The Ndokwa West Legislative Arm has elected the first female Deputy Leader of the House, Chief (Mrs.) Kate Okoh Onah during Thursday plenary.

Ndokwa West Councillors Frowned at Reconstitution of Revenue Committee Contrary To the Tarrif Bye-law

The Ndokwa West Legislative Arm has frowned at the reconstitution of the Revenue Committee by the council without recourse to the Bye-law dully passed and signed into law.

The Legislature during Thursday 27th January, 2022 plenary pointed out that the Revenue Committee was reconstituted contrary to section 2 of the Tarriff Bye-law 2016 as amended 2021.

The Councillors who were unanimous in condemning the action however directed the House Committee on Revenue to invite the Secretary to LG, to give further explanation on the matter.

Meanwhile, the Legislative Arm has suspended the Deputy Leader and Councillor, representing wards 1, for lying in the name of the Executive chairman.

Other reason for suspending the councillor was based on his ignoble role in misleading the councillors by requesting a name each from them on a fictitious empowerment programme on agricultural training.

The House citing section 173, 17.3, 17.4, and 17.5 of the Rules that duelt on discipline and suspension of members maintained that no one should be allowed no matter how highly placed to drag the Councillors into 'politics of personal interest'.

The House added that the Deputy Leader equally lied under aoth and its amount to abuse of his office.
