LABOUR/ GOVERNMENT IMPASSE AND THE URGENT NEED FOR CONTINUE DIALOGUE TO REACH COMPROMISE.

Peace does not mean an absence of conflicts; differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means; through dialogue, education, knowledge; and through humane ways.

History had it on record that government and labour impasse is as long as government itself.while demands lists are always on the increase from the end of the labour union to better or increase the living standard and welfare of her members, the ability to meeting the demands on the side of government is always not 💯% .This, from time immemorial is somewhat attributed to beauracratic bottlenecks and unforeseen financial circumstances.

Though government is a continuum! Every successive government comes on board with its conspiracy theory as an approach to her style of governance to delivering on mandates. Whereas, others could build on existing structures (Consolidation) like we re presently witnessing under the reign of Engr Abdullahi A.Sule, some could start afresh without why. Every government has its own fare share of the labour impasse anyway.

Be that as it may, it's truism the government and indeed the labour union in Nasarawa state have been enjoying an unprecedented and very pleasant working synergy for the past two years until things went the other way round recently. This is not unconnected to the peaceful coexistence and developmental projects so far executed. There wouldn't have been any developmental projects in a rancouruos atmosphere as this. all hope is not yet lost.

As a people of goodwill, lovers and indeed critical stakeholders in the Nasarawa state project: history wouldn't be fair in our judgement if we wished that the face off between NLC and the government should lingers for whatever reason (s). Dispute of this magnitude is not alien to our democratic and civil service culture. As a tradition, there has always been ways and manners they were in the past amicably resolved, this too can be resolve.

In resolving this, it's important that we all sheath our sword and recall our army from the battle field convincingly on the need to attend to the call of the largest table in the world (Dialogue table). It is on this table that the result for gaining access to the most accommodating and biggest room in the world (Room for Improvement) is gotten. This in totality cannot be actualize unless, there is a sincere and deliberate political will to implementing the plus and minus . It won't be a table for show of strength but a table for enough consideration and compromises.

While, Labour reserves the sole right of demanding their constitutional rights without intimidation and infringements on the right of ordinary citizens, let it be known that these demands are subject to scrutiny of TIME...
While, I join other well meaning stakeholders to call for restrain in the ongoing face off, I strongly believe and very hopeful that though the demands can't be meet at once, it shall be fruitful as time progresses.

Labour have spoken in a very clear language, it's very loud and the government have heard, the impulse is still fresh but let's not lost out our voice to the continuous calls while the answer to our calls is here. We call on the government to ensure that the door to the dialogue table remains open for the NLC to walk in as always.

Of all the available options on the side of government, silence is not one and of all the options before the labour union, Continuous strike and shutting down of offices, head of agencies, ministries and parastatals is not one.In true dialogue, both sides are willing to change.

Dialogue is the answer!let's embrace it!!

While the masses cannot always be right in their agitations, the government is always not wrong in her approach(es) to meeting our demands.

We can't be clamouring for Reformation of the policing system and overhaul of the securities architecture yet brutally confrontational to authorit(ies) concerns in our demands.

It's a known and established fact that even in the developed nations, police brutality is still eminent and citizenry calls for new reforms and right to protest are well respected. The messages from Nigerians to her government is very loud and I am glad government in her wisdom had realized that sovereignty truly belong to the people.

The new calls by well meaning Nigerians has infact taken an unpleasant dimensions as a result of bad eggs infiltration whose stock in thread isn't clearly defined and sure, very far from the Intended motives. Their modus operandi speaks negative volume hence, adding sinister kind of offensive glamour to the movement.

Let it be on record, that their activities must be thoroughly investigated and the few motives of the bad eggs amongst the innocent protesters be unravelled and appropriate measures of equal or more standard serve them very chill.
Rooms must not be given for any further suspicious intents of protest against bad or weak policies of the government on innocent Nigerians by the power that be as a result of the attitude of microscopic few elements within us.

Interests of grave proportion is already taken the lead in this protest from various states of the federation. In as much as the constitution guaranteed us freedom of association and equally protest to unfavorable government policies, until excesses that comes with this freedom are constitutionally checkmated, the future portrays danger and doom. (GOD FORBIDS).

I salute the clear and innocent intentions of the Patriotic Nigerians who are in the forefront of demanding policing Reformation and an end to Nigeria police brutality. I equally salute the president and inspector general of police for hearkens to voices of reason. It can only take a government with Political wills to be flexible in terms of her policies formulations and programmes executions to act this fast in the interest of all Nigerians.

State thus, must set machineries in place to checkmate excesses and not take undue advantage of bad eggs amongst us to unleash dragons on all protesters as doing so will add to the already tensed atmosphere. Professional conduct must strictly be exhibited by the securities agencies not to trample on the right of Patriotic Nigerians.

Protesters must equally conduct themselves in their very best within the confine of tradition and constitutional backings in order not to create rooms for any misgivings.

I come in peace.......

Northern Youth Groups back Nomination of Hon Silas Agara as Chairman, National Population Commission (NPC)
Nigeria Star NewsAugust 24, 2020Politics

Northern Youth Groups back nomination of former Nasarawa State Deputy Governor as Chairman National population commission (NPC).

A coalition of Northern Youth Groups Comprising, the
Northern Youth Leaders Council(NYLC), North Central Youth Congress(NCYC), Northern Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN), Buhari National Students Support Group (BNSSG) APC Youth Ambassadors have thrown our weight behind the nomination of the former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State Hon. Silas Ali Agara by President Muhammadu Buhari as Chairman of National population commission NPC.

This is based on Hon. Agara’s track record as a detribalize Nigerian who has the requisite qualifications, experience and right character to steer the ship of the NPC that will give the country the right demography and census figure for proper planning and development.

As a youthful public figure with an unblemished records, the President has no doubt, made the right choice that should be supported by all well meaning citizens of the country irrespective of ethnic, religious, political or regional differences.

We are however saddened by the recent turn of event with alleged plot by some political figures within the Northern region to withdraw his nomination and replaced him with another northerner of a different religion and state of origin as was contained in the Sahara Reporters online publication of Sunday 23rd August, 2020.

REPORT THIS AD

The Group views this move as a deliberate attempt by mischief makers to derail the unifying efforts of Mr President, aimed at balancing the power equation of the country and enhancing social cohesion by the diverse ethnic and religious classifications of the nation.

Beside his immense qualification as a bonifide citizen of the country and inline with the existing federal character principles, highly respected by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, the nominee Hon. Silas Ali Agara is a Founding member of the APC, who has been an ardent Supporter of the President right from their Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) days.

Hon. Agara surely deserves to be rewarded with a notable national position to enable him contribute his quota to the development of the country, especially now that there is a compelling need for collective efforts to reposition the country for greater efficiency.

The Group may not want to join issues with some notable names and individuals quoted in the Sahara Reporters publication for improper attribution and its speculative nature, we however believe that for every rumour, there could be some elements of truth which should be treated with all seriousness; there is no smoke without fire.

REPORT THIS AD

To this end, we called on our amiable President Muhammadu Buhari not to be distracted but to kindly forward of the nominee and other list to appropriate quotas for confirmation in order to lay to rest the prolonged speculations trailing the appointment, thereby putting to shame mischievous elements sabotaging the good intentions of the Government.

Thank you and God bless Nigeria.

Happy Democracy Day Nigerians....... June 12, the June to reflect in sober.

June 12 was a watershed in the nation history. It was truly Nigeria's best opportunity at democractic reconstruction. It failed because of the inordinate ambition of a few individuals. No one knows for sure when the country will have such a glorious opportunity again but all hope not lost.

On June 12, the country found an occasion that lifted up its collective spirit. It was a momentous day full of potentials. We may never know where Nigeria would be today if June 12 had been allowed to stand. Some people have tried to belittle the import of June 12.

Abiola was not the answer or the Messiah we were told. Regrettably, when they had the opportunity to save Nigeria, they turned out to be no better than soldiers of Fortune dressed in democractic garb.

June 12 election was adjudged "free and fair" for the simple reason that within the limitations placed by the military regime of Gen. Babangida, Nigerians played by the rules. Compare that with what happened in 1999,2003,2007 and recently 2011.

No one of course, expected that all the problems of Nigeria would have been solved, with an Abiola presidency. He was much a victim as a player in the system that eventually took his life.that system, intricately tied to a pernicious world order, can't save the working class and millions of impoverished Nigerians who voted on June 12,1993.

As Democrats, I am of the view that the dynamics of June 12 offered something decades of pretentious posturing by successive governments about national unity an ethnic integration could not offer. Religious bigotry is as much a problem in Nigeria today as unemployment, poverty, corruption and human right abuses amongst others.

June 12 confronted these monsters frontally. June 12 offered two Muslims on the presidential ticket. They had the chance to appear before Nigerians to articulate their positions, and Nigerians east,, west, north, south voted, without been coerced, for the candidate of choice.

On June 12, Nigerians from all works of life made fundamental Political statement. On that day, the country impoverished and forgotten masses were able to overcome the bogey of ethnicity and Religious divisions by the ruling class, and showed that these weapons in the hands of the inglorious class to maintain it's stranglehold on the country.

June 12 would have defined the face of the new Nigeria: a nation unencumbered by religious and ethnic cleavage. June 12 was about the ability of a people to decide on a course of action; and nothing could be more fundamental in moving a nation forward.

Clearly, we re beginning to learn our lessons as a nation but the annulment of June 12 election would remain a sad reminder of how far removed from nationhood we were. In making amend to our past errors. The first step in our national rebirth is the official recognition of June 12 as new Democracy day by the Buhari presidency and equally recognizing many who lost their lives with national Honours.

Beyonds June 12, democracy and baisc democratic tenets must not be undermine and cajole by our rulers/leaders at the helms of our affairs.

June 12 is indeed a victory for all Nigerians dead or alive................ Congratulations Nigerians!!!

NOT ALL ISSUES CALLS FOR DEFENSE......just take responsibility and apologize then rest the case. As simple as saying your name right? It's the most difficult thing to do anyway.

In the discharge of our duties, we often times err but taken and accepting that we erred is a fact that we are ready to improve and make amend with assurance to avoid reoccurrence.

In the discharge of our duties, we often times got overwhelmed by situation at hand that we fed the public with information that isn't filtered hence left us vulnerable to critics and resorting very hard to defending our stands.

In the discharge of our duties, we got lashed, even more lashed than expected cos we refused to take responsibility for our actions and inactions.

In the discharge of our duties, we have got integrities to protect. That of self, principals and the system but most important at all cost that of the system must be defended. We must not even defend if we take and accept responsibility.

In the discharge of our duties, when we fail expectations, when we fail the people and fail the system it's not a must that we defend it, we should just accept that we fail then apologize and both the people and the system will understand.

In the discharge of our duties, let it be on record that there are certain defences that are not defensible. Owns responsibility and move on.

People may call us names and look at us as been very weak, it's normal. Just apologize and move on.

People may disagree with our views and intentions and even careless why we make mistakes but they won't disagree the fact that we are humans and bound to make mistakes. Though some mistake are too very expensive to make but take responsibility anyway.

At the tale end of it all, it's not our defense that makes us humans, it's not our criticisms that stands us out,it's not our love or opposition that defines it but the SINCERITY of where we truly stand for or against the TRUTH.

You have been right all long. why not just take responsibility for a day cos things went wrong and move on. It makes u more human me think..........

Happy 48th Birthday to My Boss H.E Silas Ali Agara PhD.

I celebrate a selfless and exemplary politician of repute, an astute leader and champion of the "We Believe" project. My Boss in whom am truly very well pleased.

A true democracy hero of our generation, a paradigm shifter, youth builder,a barrier breaker,a thought provoker, kindhearted and a 3Star general of political movement in Nasarawa state.

Here is a man who saw opportunities where others see only crisis. Very diplomatic and active in service to humanity. A man u can confide in without reservation.

Have u seen or heard of a loyal Boss? I have got one big time.
He's that man I called Boss friend. So down to earth, sincere, charismatic, caring, focus and dedicated to duty but very well reserved and stylishly garnished with swags..................

A man gifted with oratory prowess, a brain amongst the Nasarawa political first eleven.

Here is a man who believes in ideas and can succumb easily to superior argument if u have got one. That one man that spoke alot to me via body language. He will asked that I should be called, on reaching his office, he will just stare at me without a word and that ends it for the day meanwhile, the messages are taken.

Happy birthday (Ciroma Toto) @48
Happy Birthday-

-To the chairman and founder of Miakaya development foundation
-To a specialist in lives touching projects
-To a governor that never was but governor that will be someday
-To a man of many positive chapters
-To a man of few words but many breakthrough. It's true there is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.

Little wonder why Paul Sebastian succinctly captured Maikaya in his poetic work as follows.

Life’s meaning is not in riches
Nor is it in being famous
It is not in being highly learned
Nor is it in being highly positioned

But

It is in the person you bear
It is in the character you rear
It is in your humility
It is in your honesty

It is giving, in touching lives
It is following someone’s strides
It is a life lived in worthiness
It is there you find happiness.

You are indeed a happy man for making us happy. You are humility and intelligent personified, a worthy ambassador, promoter and shoulder of our collective course, a beautiful soul inside out, down to earth, humble and open minded, friendly in cash and kind.
No one had cross your path without a mentioned of your kindly human gesture.

Let it be on record, that we are celebrating a living legend and nature free gift to humanity for no cost.

May Allah continue to uplift u in good health and enrich your purse to better more the lots of humanity.

Congratulations and Happiest Birthday Sir
