MARARABA TWIN FLYOVER PROJECT RAISES HOPE FOR FLOOD CONTROL, RESIDENTS SAY

Residents of Mararaba have expressed optimism that the ongoing construction of the Mararaba Twin Flyover by the administration of Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule will help address the recurring flooding experienced in the area, particularly during the rainy season.

Speaking during interviews, the residents said the project, alongside improved drainage and water-flow arrangements around the road corridor, is expected to improve the movement of stormwater, reduce water accumulation, and minimise the disruption caused by flooding to motorists, commuters, businesses, and residents.

Nasarawa State Governor and Chairman North Central Governors' Forum, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule attended the 160th meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) chaired by Vice President, Kashim Shettima GCON at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

During the meeting, Council received update reports on its key interventions, including the commencement of work on the rehabilitation of 13 police training institutions across the country.

Council also endorsed the Revised National Social Protection Policy (NSPP: 2026–2030), as presented by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu, and urged states to align their Social Protection Policies, Laws, Budgets and Implementation Plans with the Revised National Social Protection Policy.

Vice President charged Council members to sustain ongoing reforms until improvements in the economy translate into jobs, stronger purchasing power, business confidence and better living conditions for Nigerians.

The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule Inaugurates ACReSAL Heavy-duty Machines at the State Secretariat Complex, Shendam Road, Lafia.

The Government of Nasarawa State through the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) Project acquired the Heavy-duty Machinery and equipment that would henceforth be helping communities adapt to changing climate and manage landscapes in a more sustainable manner.

ACReSAL hands over; a grader, bulldozer, dump truck and a low-bed truck and crane in order to strengthen the state's capacity to undertake practical land degradation solutions and dredging of water ways and related interventions across the State.

The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule attended the Celebration Ceremony of the 4th Anniversary of Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technology Institute Lafia.

Formally established and inaugurated by the late President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari on the 24th day of February, 2022. The 4th Anniversary celebration marks a major milestone in the state journey in institutionalizing technical and vocational education as an instrument of economic development.

The Governor Sule on behalf of the state approved thirty-seven million (37m) naira to the institute for the acquisition of starter-packs for the current graduating trainees of the institute and assured of government continuous support.

The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule embarked on an inspection visit to the State-owned rice farm in Jangwa as a new cropping seasons kicks off.

Governor Sule also interacted with officials of private companies that are working with the state government to ensure optimal utilization of the farm and a profitable venture.

The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, presided over the presentation of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Acknowledgement Slip to Candidates of All Progressives Congress party for the 2027 general elections in the State.

The Governor thanked the APC Chairman and Members of the State Working Committee for their work and support for the party.

He said the event gave him the opportunity of meeting some of the candidates for the very first time.

The INEC acknowledgement Slip indicates that the recipients are duly acknowledged by the electoral body (INEC).
