PROLOGUE

Tatiana had always felt like life was a cruel joke that was being played on her.

From a young age, she had experienced more hardship and trauma than most people would in a lifetime. At just 5 years old, she lost her mother to a sudden illness. Her world was shattered, and she struggled to come to terms with the loss of the woman who had been her rock.

Just two months after her mother's passing, Tatiana’s father brought another woman into their home.

At first, Tatiana had hoped that this new woman would bring some stability and love into their lives. However, her hopes were quickly dashed as she realized that her stepmother was cold, cruel, and abusive.

Tatiana’s father turned a blind eye to the abuse that she suffered at the hands of her stepmother. He seemed more interested in keeping the peace in the household than in protecting his own daughter. Tatiana felt like she was constantly walking on eggshells, never knowing when the next outburst of violence would come.

As she grew older, Tatiana found solace in school. It was her only escape from the nightmare that was her home life. She was a bright and talented student, with dreams of going to college and making something of herself.

However, her dreams were shattered when she was forced to drop out of high school at the age of 15.

Her stepmother had arranged for her to marry a man twice her age, a man she had never met before. Tatiana felt like she had no choice but to comply with her stepmother's wishes. She was married off in a small ceremony, feeling like a lamb being led to the slaughter.

From the moment she moved in with her new husband, Tatiana’s life became a living hell. He was a cruel and violent man, who took pleasure in terrorizing her on a daily basis. He would come home drunk and angry, looking for any excuse to unleash his fury on her.

Tatiana endured years of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her husband. She felt trapped in a nightmare from which there was no escape. She was too ashamed to reach out for help, too afraid of what might happen if she spoke out against him.

Tatiana felt like her world had come crashing down around her. She was broken, both physically and emotionally. She knew that she couldn't go on living like this, that she deserved better than the life that had been handed to her.

Tatiana had tried to run away, to escape the nightmare that had become her life. But her husband always found her, always dragged her back, beating her until she was too weak to resist. She was trapped, a prisoner in her own home.

But through it all, Tatiana had Oliver. Her 7yrs old son was the reason she kept fighting, the reason she refused to give up. Oliver was her light in the darkness, her reason to hope for a better future.

Everything slowly changed when he came into her life.

She felt like she and her son could be happy again and finally be set free from Malachi’s webs.

She never felt this way about any man, the desire to have him and be in his arms. She wanted to be his, for him to wrap his cold icy arms around her, to shed her from the cruel world.

Who was she fooling?

She knew that was impossible, he doesn’t even notice her for once, at least that what she thought.

Who is he??..
