Egbe – Idimu LocalCouncil Development Area is one of the Six Councils carved out of Alimosho Local Government Area in October 24, 2003. The Lagos State House of Assembly, exercising its powers as enshrined in Section 8, sub-section 3 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, had passed the Law establishing 37 additional Council areas to further spread grassroots governance and e

nsure even development of all communities in the State. The Local Council Development is located in the Lagos West Senatorial district, of Lagos State. Egbe-Idimu is bounded in the North by isheri Olofin and Ogunrombi communities; in the South by isheri Osun common boundry with Ejigbo LCDA; to the west by Ejigbo LCDA and to the East by the Isheri osun swamp up to Ikotun-igando LCDA. Predominantly Awori settlement, Egbe –idimu LCDA comprises Egbe, Idimu and Isheri Olofin with a dense population made up mainly of farmers and fishermen. Although a rural community, it boosts of a large presence of cosmopolitan Lagos blessed with multiple acceses to vital areas of Lagos State including a four –lane dual carriage way access to the Lagos –Badagry Expressway as wellas access to Ejigbo, the crucial depot for the NNPC in the South West.

ONE YEAR, VISIBLE IMPACT: HON. PRINCE IDRIS BALOGUN UNVEILS NEW EXECUTIVE BUILDING, JTF INITIATIVE, OPERATIONAL VEHICLES AND EMPOWERS FARMERS

The Executive Chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, today marked the first 365 days of his administration with a celebration highlighting key initiatives and interventions undertaken in the interest of the people of Egbe-Idimu.

The anniversary celebration, attended by invited guests, community leaders, stakeholders and residents, highlighted key achievements of the administration over its first year in office. In his keynote address, the Executive Chairman reflected on the administration’s journey so far, reaffirming his commitment to delivering on its mandate and advancing the development of Egbe-Idimu, with particular emphasis on security, infrastructure, empowerment and effective governance.

A major highlight of the celebration was the inauguration of the newly appointed Senior Special Adviser (SSA) and the establishment of the Local Joint Task Force (JTF), an initiative of the Executive Chairman aimed at strengthening security and enhancing the protection of lives and property within Egbe-Idimu. The newly inaugurated JTF personnel were also provided with operational tools and equipment to enhance their effectiveness and facilitate the efficient discharge of their duties.

In line with the administration’s commitment to economic empowerment and support for local livelihoods, Egbe-Idimu farmers were empowered also with farming tools to strengthen agricultural activities, improve productivity and support their contribution to the local economy.

Another major milestone was the commissioning of the newly built Executive Building, a significant addition to the administrative infrastructure of Egbe-Idimu, designed to provide an improved environment for administrative operations and public service delivery.

The Chairman also commissioned new operational vehicles for revenue officers and the newly inaugurated JTF to enhance mobility and facilitate the effective discharge of their duties.

The projects and initiatives commissioned during the anniversary celebration reflect the administration’s commitment to translating its vision into practical interventions that impact governance, security, infrastructure and community development.

As the administration begins its second year in office, the anniversary marks not only a celebration of achievements recorded so far, but also a renewed commitment to consolidating ongoing efforts towards a safer, more developed and economically empowered Egbe-Idimu.

EGBE-IDIMU LCDA JOINS THE DRIVE FOR A GREENER LAGOS AT THE 2026 TREE PLANTING DAY

Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, joined the Lagos State Government in commemorating the 2026 Tree Planting Day, themed “Trees for Lagos: Our City, Our Responsibility.”

The event commenced with a brief programme at Isheri Roundabout before participants, led by the Executive Chairman, proceeded to the symbolic tree planting exercise, reaffirming the Council’s commitment to environmental sustainability and a greener Lagos.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun emphasized the importance of tree planting as a collective responsibility, noting that every tree planted contributes to cleaner air, a healthier environment, and a more sustainable future. He urged residents, market women, community leaders, and other stakeholders to embrace tree planting as a continuous civic responsibility rather than a one-day event.

The symbolic tree planting exercise was carried out by the Executive Chairman alongside the Vice Chairman, political office holders, management staff, and other stakeholders, demonstrating the Council’s unwavering support for the Lagos State Government’s environmental sustainability agenda.

LAGOS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE COMMENDS EGBE-IDIMU LCDA’S DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS

Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area, under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, today received members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, led by its Chairman, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon at the Council’s multipurpose hall, Foke.

The delegation, comprising Hon. Kehinde Joseph, Hon. Surajudeen O. Tijani, Hon. Olawale Age Sulaiman, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya, Hon. Adebola Shabi, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, Hon. Ajayi Oladele, Hon. Ege Olusegun, Hon. Abdulkareem Jubril, Hon. Aro Moshood, and Hon. Samuel Apata, was presented with a comprehensive pictorial showcase of completed and ongoing projects executed by the administration through a Projector.

Following the presentation, the Committee commended the Executive Chairman for the remarkable developmental initiatives across the LCDA and encouraged the administration to sustain its commitment to delivering more impactful, people-oriented projects for the benefit of residents.

INVESTING IN THE FUTURE STARTS WITH NOURISHING OUR CHILDREN.

Today, the Chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, joined the Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme in collaboration with the Lagos State Government and Conference 57 at Community Nursery and Primary School, Isheri-Olofin.

Beyond supporting the school feeding initiative, Hon. Prince Idris reaffirmed his commitment to quality education by announcing plans to provide solar-powered lighting, computers, ceiling fans, and furniture for teachers, further enhancing the school’s learning environment.

Together, we are building healthier pupils, stronger schools, and a brighter future for our communities.

EGBE-IDIMU LCDA HONOURS DEDICATED SERVICE AS OUTGOING OFFICERS RECEIVE PARTING GIFTS AND RECOGNITION.

The management and staff of Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) organized a send-forth ceremony on Tuesday, 9th June 2026, in honour of Heads of Departments and Heads of Units who had recently been posted out of the Council to other LGs and LCDAs.

The event, held at the Council Secretariat, served as an opportunity to celebrate the dedication, professionalism, and invaluable contributions of the outgoing officers to the growth and development of Egbe-Idimu LCDA during their time spent at the administrative level .
In recognition of their meritorious service and commitment to duty while at Egbe Idimu, the Council Manger; Mrs Orebela Abiola on behalf of the Executive Chairman; Hon. Prince Idris Balogun commended the outgoing officers for their hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service, while wishing them success in their future assignments.
