Lagos State has unveiled the third edition of its Agrithon initiative, a youth-focused programme aimed at boosting innovation in agriculture and food systems with a ₦200 million grant support.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, said the initiative reflects the state’s commitment to empowering young people with the funding, mentorship, and business support needed to transform innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises.

The Lagos State Government has strengthened its food systems agenda through the Lagos Agric Scholars Programme (LASP), a youth-focused initiative to develop future agricultural leaders. At a capacity-building programme for teachers and students, The Honourable Commissioner, for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms. Abisola Olusanya described it as a human capital platform aimed at repositioning agriculture as an innovative enterprise.
