I join my brother Honourable Timothy Adi the Chairman Gwer East LGA, Hon. Audu Elias Member representing Gwer East Constituency, His Excellency Revd Hyacinth Iormem Alia Governor Benue State, Hon. Asema Achado Gwer/Gwer West National, all Benue family, Nigeria and friends of Nigeria to celebrate our great Nation at 65.

Nigeria remains the Giant of Africa and the center of hope for Africa and the world. God has been faithful in this 65 years, Nigeria is among few nations of the world that got her independent without bloodshed. I'm always proud to be a Nigerian and that was why I rejected an offer to carry another nation's nationality.

God has not done with us fellow Nigerians, be encouraged our future is bright. Nigeria is a project in God's hands and the Lord will perfect that which he has started in us. I pray all our leaders and representatives in one capacity of the other to promote peace, unity and progress instead of divide and rule ideology.

I also used this opportunity to call on the United Nations to grant Nigeria a permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council. Nigeria is the voice of Africa and must be part of decision making that affect the security in the continent of Africa.

Happy New Month and Independence Day.

The Newly Proposed Airport by the Government of Benue State: Will This Be A Thing of Joy or Added Sorrow For Gwer East.

By Amb Moses Hembanzan CPCR, TLC.

On Friday, 26th September 2025, the commissioner for lands and survey, Rev. Dr. Frederick Ikyaan disclosed that Gov Hyacinth Iormem Alia PhD is planing to build an Airport with three wings; International, Domestic and Cargo along Makurdi -Gboko road to ameriorate the sufferings of Benue people.

This is a good and welcome development but will this be a thing of Joy or added Sorrow to the people of Gwer East especially Mbaviur Land? In 1977 the then governor of Benue State Colonel Abdullahi Shelleng took 4,486 hectares of land belonging to Masev people (Makurdi/Gwer) to build the Nigerian Air Force Base, local airport (military) and international airport with cargo and domestic wings. The people were happy and joyfully gave their ancestral lands for the development of the state. The government promised them security, yearly employment of the children into the Nigerian Air Force, and other juicy opportunities that the development will bring to the community. Today, you cannot find any Masev son or daughter who is serving in the Nigerian Air Force as a result of host community's benefits. There is no single project in that community done by Nigerian Air Force. The only opportunity our youths have is to go and help Air Force men and women to farm which sometimes they are not paid. No employment of our youths in the Makurdi local airport which is on the same land. The land our people should be using and making a living is now being used by visitors to farm and make a living. Our people now Lease our ancestral land from Air Force men to farm, which sometimes the Air Force men don't allow them to harvest their crops. The Nigerian government has done more harm to us than good, we house Nigerian air force and the Fulani Herdsmen still pass through the same land to attack us without arrest. The security that was promised has not been provided to the community by Nigerian Air Force in anyway since their presence on our soil. In Lagos state, the local airport and international airport are on the same land why don't we do same here in Benue State instead of going for another land. The 4'486 hectares of land has not been used up to half of the land.

Capturing another portion of our land in the newly proposed airport by the government of Benue State is fearful. The governor His Excellency Revd Hyacinth Iormem Alia PhD is doing well in the development of the state, but for us to have confidence in this proposal, the governor must build the two roads he promised us in the community, and allowed a open negotiation that will secure the future of our children for the land. We are farmers and we can not do without our land, taking our land without proper security for tomorrow is simply stealing our future like the government of Colonel Abdullahi Shelleng did in 1977.

I appreciate Gov. Alia government for being thoughtful of us, but the above is our concerned.

A Heart For My People (MaVER Project 2027).

The need for proper financial support and welfare of our aged and elderly can not be overlooked. Some of our aged mothers and fathers has been reduced to beggars because there are no policies that protect their future. Some of our elders have sold themselves out just for bread, because there's no support system. Truth is difficult to find nowadays because most of the white hair of wisdom has been eaten up by poverty. It was not so before, aged people were genuinely cared for and they speak the truth without fear or favour.

MaVER Project has a special package for the aged and elderly welfare, to revive their dignity in the land. An insurance that will empower their voices with truth and sincerity. We are conscious about the welfare of the aged people among us, many of them are farmers who doesn't have pension. Surviving now when they don't have the energy to farm and feed themselves has been challenging. Your support to this project will go a long way to make a difference in the lives of these aged and elderly people. Support MaVER Project, together we can build the Masev and Benue State of our dreams, Nigeria must be great.

A Heart For My People (MaVER Project 2027).

I was chatting with my cousin and he told me the price of a bag of Groundnut is less than N40,000 at home. I felt bad because this is the same groundnut you can't buy a small paint rubber for N5000. Our people spent the entire year farming to make other people rich while they remain poor. Farming is not slavery but a business just like every other business out there, to create wealth in service.

MaVER Project is set to revolutionize the state of farmers in Masev Land and Benue State. Where farmers can become
Millions and billions through their farm proceeds. The unsupportive economic system and lack of financial opportunities for farmers has caged our farmers into slavery in the hands of buyers. This also will stop soon, MaVER Project has measures in place that can liberate our farmers.
Your support for this project will go a long way in bringing transformation and security to the farmer's financial wellbeing. This will further strengthen food security in Masev, Benue and Nigeria. My people deserve a better life too, farming is not a curse but a business.

Let's join hands, together we can build the Masev and Benue State of our dreams, Nigeria must be great.

A Heart For My People (MaVER Project 2027).

In a society where everyone is all about self and what they will again. It is difficult to project a just course that will profit all especially when there's no money on the table to share. But I strongly believe change does not begin with the whole world. It begins with me and you the few, if we acknowledge the need to make a change we can definitely make a difference in our communities. Over the years our brothers and sisters who have served us in governance. Many of them came without plans for the people, some had the money and used it to get their way into governance, by chance of zoning and some through political godfatherism without a thought to shaping the society. The damages has eaten deep and to restore this we must choose people who are conscious about the well being of our people.

MaVER Project is here to gather men and women of like minds who have seeing the need to make a change in our communities. Let us not choose people because they have money to share, let us not follow people because they are connected to government or political powers. Follow people who are genuine to the course even if they don't have money to give. It is better to preserve the future of your children than to destroy it and still stay hungry. Together we can replace the wrong image and rebuild the Masev and Benue State of our dreams, Nigeria must be great.

A Heart For My People (MaVER Project 2027).

I was going through my documents today and came across some projects files. These were projects we started years ago but couldn't continue because of lack of support. These projects are filed down as part of my mission for my people because I know the importance and impact it can have on my community. Masev people are talented and gifted people who are hard working but limited opportunities and lack of sponsorship has shipwreck many dreams.
In 2011, I hosted the Yonov Upcoming Artistes Competition to encourage and promote young talents in Masev Land. Helping them discover their gifts and talents. It was the first of it kind where participants were awarded. I could feel the Joy and hope in the eyes of this young men and women. Many reached out to me after the event telling me only the stage I gave them was enough as it was their first time to display their talents before such crowd. The purpose was to help young people in Masev and across Benue State discover themselves, channel their youthful energy to a more productive and profiting to the society, and reduce crime. About 90% of the funds was directly from my farm produces. Funny enough that was my first time in life to harvest more than 2 120kg bags of rice from my farm as a young man. If only we had sponsors, many of our brothers and sisters who has lost their dreams today would have been on big screen across the world. Unfortunately, some have given up because they feels no one cares, and some are wrongly using their gifts.

MaVER Project is here to revive dreams and renew hope, the talent hunt project among others shall return with your support. Not all will be employed by the government but opportunities like this can make those with talents become employers, creating more jobs to compliment what the government is doing. Supporting MaVER Project is simply renewing the hope of the hopeless and reviving the dying dreams.

A Heart For My People (MaVER Project 2027).

Do you know employees are service providers and not labour slaves? Are you also aware that employers are not gods but people who need others to secure and grow their investments? Yet because of decayed leadership over the years, employees are now labour slaves and employers small gods. The government need to provide our youths with the right skills, open doors of opportunities by making education more accessible, creating jobs and empowering young businesses purposefully not politically, guaranteeing the security of lives and properties for a competitive investment environment, creating labor laws that protect the citizens from evil employers who has become slave masters. Living citizens under the mercies of business owners who do care about the future of others is destructive.

MaVER Project is a voice the people never had, this project is aimed at addressing the fundamental causes of poverty in the land. We are open to partnering with well meaning Nigerians, organizations, and others who want the narratives changed. Together we can build the Masev and Benue State of our dreams, Nigeria must be great.

A Heart For My People (MaVER Project 2027).

Cultivating the culture of responsible, inclusive and effective representation can help end transactional politics to build Transformational politics in Masev and Benue State. Transactional politics creates bad governance, poverty and developmental setbacks. We as a people have to know the negative effects of transactional politics in our communities, and decide to embrace transformational politics for good and better governance. MaVER Project is set to revolutionize the path to transformational politics and bring the dividends of Democracy to our people. We don't believe in coming every 4 years to buy votes, we believe in partnering with the people to build the Masev and Benue of our dreams. If a representative partner with the people, the people have a voice but when the representative buy votes from the people, they lose their voices. I believe this is where many people are finding it difficult to appreciate the government of his Excellency Gov Hyacinth Iormem Alia. A government that is trading on the pathway of transformational politics which is new to many people in the state. I understand the feeling of embracing a new culture, but this is the best for Benue State and Nigeria as a Nation.

I pray your support, Join MaVER Project to help deliver our people from the destructive transactional Political culture into a Transformational political culture that fuels development. Stand with our governor Alia, he is on this pathway and support MaVER Project.
Together we can build the Masev and Benue State of our dreams, Nigeria must be great.

17/09/2025

Today, we officially flagged off the 2025 Fertilizer Distribution at subsidized rates, alongside other farm inputs, for both wet and dry season farming at the Benue Fertilizer & Chemicals Company (BEFCCO), Makurdi.

Our vision is to make agriculture the pride of Benue once again and to raise hundreds of millionaire farmers within the next two years.

This year, we are releasing 600 truckloads of fertilizer worth ₦16.8 billion. With government’s 50% subsidy, our farmers will access fertilizer at just ₦22,500 per bag. In addition, we have finalized arrangements to settle over ₦5 billion owed to genuine fertilizer suppliers, after cleansing the system of fraudulent practices from the past.

To enhance transparency and efficiency, all fertilizer sales will now be processed cashlessly through accredited POS terminals, ensuring that only genuine farmers benefit from our support. Furthermore, we have adopted a new agricultural calendar to guarantee timely access to inputs for both wet and dry seasons.

But beyond fertilizers, we are changing the story of Benue agriculture. Beginning in December, no orange will leave Benue in raw form. Our new fruit processing factory will add value to our produce, create jobs, and boost local wealth.

May God bless our farmers, and also bless our dear state.
