Today, I had the honour and privilege of accompanying my friend and a distinguished son of the soil of Lere Local Government, Mallam El-Said Yakubu Lere, to his inauguration as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) by His Excellency, Senator Malam Uba Sani, CON, Executive Governor of Kaduna State, at the State House, Kaduna.

The appointment and inauguration of Mallam El-Said Yakubu Lere is a moment of great pride for the people of Lere Local Government. His wealth of experience and longstanding contributions to the media sector make him well-suited for this important responsibility.

During the occasion, I also had the opportunity to meet and exchange pleasantries with the Director-General of KSMC, Mr. Ben Kure, as we discussed matters relating to the development of the media sector and its continued role in promoting positive development across Kaduna State.

On behalf of the people of Lere Local Government, I congratulate Mallam El-Said Yakubu Lere on this well-deserved appointment and wish him wisdom, success and a fruitful tenure in office.

TODAY AS THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN LERE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL, I RECEIVED A DELEGATION LED BY THE CONFIRMED EDUCATION SECRETARY ON A HOMAGE VISIT.

Lere - Kaduna State. 3rd September, 2026.

Today, I had the honour of receiving in my office in Kaduna, Mal. Alhassan M. Gidado, the newly confirmed Education Secretary of Lere Local Government Council, accompanied by a delegation on a homage visit following his confirmation.

I warmly congratulated Mal. Alhassan M. Gidado on his confirmation and expressed my confidence in his ability to discharge the responsibilities of his new office with dedication, professionalism and a strong sense of duty.

Having previously served as the Acting Education Secretary of Lere Local Government, I believe his experience will be valuable in advancing our administration’s commitment to improve the education sector and enhance learning opportunities for our children and youths across Lere Local Government.

I assured Mal. Gidado and the delegation of my continued support and urged them to remain committed to the collective development agenda of His Excellency Sen. Uba Sani CONs administration and the overall progress of Kaduna State Education and Lere Local Government.

The Executive Chairman Lere Local Government Council, Hon. Jafaru Ahmed, has formally confirmed the appointment of Mal. Gidado Alhassan Muhammad as the Education Secretary (ES), Lere Local Government.

Mal. Gidado Alhassan Muhammad has an extensive academic background in education. His educational qualifications include:

FREE MEDICINE DISTRIBUTION COMMENCES ACROSS 11 PHCs IN LERE LOCAL GOVERNMENT.
Lere – Kaduna State. 1st September, 2026

The Deputy Director and Essential Drugs Officer of Lere Local Government Council, Mal. Auwal Aliyu, has commenced the distribution of free medicines across 11 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in Lere Local Government Area.

The distribution follows the recent flag-off by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Jafaru Ahmed, with the medicines provided through the intervention of His Excellency, Sen. Uba Sani, CON, Executive Governor of Kaduna State.

Mal. Auwal Aliyu cautioned the Managers of the respective PHCs to ensure that the free medications are judiciously distributed and reach the targeted beneficiaries, particularly pregnant women and other vulnerable members of the community, without discrimination.

The initiative is aimed at improving access to essential medicines and strengthening healthcare delivery across Lere Local Government.

THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN LERE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL HON. JAFARU AHMED HELD AN OFFICIAL ENGAGEMENT WITH MALAMAN ISLAMIIYYA/TSANGAYA LEADERSHIP.

The Executive Chairman Lere Local Government Council, Hon. Jafaru Ahmed, held a fruitful and constructive engagement with the leadership of Malaman Islamiyya/Tsangaya, led by Sheikh Muhammad Aminu, alongside the leadership of the Kaduna State Malaman Tsangaya Association.

The engagement provided a valuable platform for meaningful dialogue on issues affecting Tsangaya education, the welfare of Islamic scholars and teachers, and the continued development of Qur’anic and Islamic education within Lere Local Government.

The Executive Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintain an open-door policy and strengthening collaboration with religious scholars, Tsangaya teachers and other relevant stakeholders in promoting peaceful coexistence, moral upbringing, educational development and community progress.

Hon. Jafaru Ahmed commended the leadership of the association for its dedication to Islamic education and community development, stressing the important role of scholars and Tsangaya teachers in nurturing responsible, disciplined and morally upright members of society.

The meeting further underscored the importance of continued cooperation between the Local Government Council and the Tsangaya community in addressing emerging challenges and advancing initiatives that will benefit the people of Lere Local Government.

The engagement concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing their readiness to sustain dialogue, mutual understanding and partnership in the collective interest of the people.

The Executive Chairman Lere Local Government Council, Hon. Jafaru Ahmed, presided over a joint meeting with APC Party Ward Chairmen and members of the Association of Imams and Ulama (Muslim Teachers) from across Lere Local Government.

The meeting provided a platform for constructive engagement, consultation and exchange of ideas on issues of importance to the people of Lere, with particular emphasis on strengthening grassroots leadership, promote peace, unity and mutual understanding among communities.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman appreciated the APC Ward Chairmen, Imams and Ulama for their continued commitment to the development and stability of the Local Government and emphasized the important roles played by political and religious leaders in mobilizing citizens, promoting peaceful coexistence and initiatives that positively impact the lives of the people.

Hon. Jafaru Ahmed further called for sustained collaboration between the Local Government administration, political leadership and religious scholars, noting that effective grassroots development requires collective responsibility, consultation and a shared commitment to the welfare of the people.

The Chairman, also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, community engagement, peace-building and people-oriented development, while encouraging all stakeholders to continue working together in the interest of Lere Local Government.

The participants commended the Executive Chairman for providing an avenue for dialogue and consultation, and expressed their readiness to continue supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening unity, peace and sustainable development across Lere Local Government.

The Executive Chairman Lere Local Government Council, Hon. Jafaru Ahmed, today received in audience the leadership of the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) and RTEAN, Unguwan Bawa Chapter, over a dispute concerning passenger loading and related transportation activities within the area.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to present their respective concerns before the Executive Chairman, who listened attentively to the issues raised and encouraged all stakeholders to approach the matter with maturity, mutual respect and a strong commitment to peaceful resolution.

Hon. Jafaru Ahmed emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, order and harmonious relations among transport operators, noting that disputes within the transport sector should not be allowed to disrupt the movement of passengers, commercial activities or the general peace of the community.

The Chairman further called on the leadership of both NARTO and RTEAN to prioritize dialogue and cooperation, while ensuring that all transportation activities are conducted in accordance with established rules and regulations.

Hon. Jafaru Ahmed, assured the stakeholders that the Local Government Council remains committed to provide a fair platform for resolving legitimate grievances and promote an orderly, safe and conducive transportation environment across Lere Local Government.

The leadership of NARTO and RTEAN appreciated the Chairman for his timely intervention and expressed their readiness to cooperate with the Local Government Council towards achieving a peaceful and lasting resolution to the dispute.

Today, the Executive Chairman Lere Local Government Council, Hon. Jafaru Ahmed, had the honour of receiving in audience the leadership of the Tsangaya Association of Nigeria, Lere Local Government Chapter, during a courtesy visit to his office.

The visit provided an important opportunity for constructive engagement and meaningful dialogue on issues relating to the development, welfare and effective coordination of Tsangaya education within Lere Local Government.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman appreciated the leadership of the Association for the visit and commended its commitment to promoting Islamic and traditional learning, discipline, moral values and character development among young people in the society.

Hon. Jafaru Ahmed reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to maintain an open-door policy and strengthening collaboration with relevant community, religious and educational stakeholders and emphasized that; sustainable grassroots development requires partnership, mutual understanding and collective responsibility.

The Chairman further assured the delegation of his administration’s willingness to continue engaging with the Association and other relevant stakeholders toward addressing legitimate concerns and support initiatives that contribute positively to the educational and social development of the people of Lere Local Government.
