House of Assembly Aspirant for Akoko North West Constituency II, Dr. Niyi Awotomilusi Solomon, has pledged to work closely with Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to deepen ongoing efforts at securing lives and property across Ondo State and the constituency.

Dr. Awotomilusi commended the Governor’s investment in Amotekun Corps, provision of operational vehicles, and support for conventional security agencies, noting that these steps have helped reduce crime and improve peace in many communities.

By also confirming the substantive appointment of Dr. Simeon Olorunwa Adegun as Rector, the administration has shown respect for due process and institutional continuity.

The committee headed by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Olaolu Akindolire, is a right step toward auditing payroll data, reconciling gaps, and designing a sustainable payment structure for staff. This approach ensures that both academic and non-academic workers are treated fairly while keeping the Polytechnic functional.

The approval for construction of new hospital buildings with a combined 500-bed capacity in key towns, alongside the upgrade of the neuropsychiatric facility in Akure, is a landmark intervention that will transform healthcare delivery for millions of Ondo residents. From the 100-bed facilities in Ikare-Akoko, Ore, and Okitipupa, to the specialist hospitals and 50-bed centres in Irele and Igbokoda, this administration has shown that the health of our people is non-negotiable.

Particularly commendable is the adoption of the “one-stop shop” model for general hospitals, which will integrate laboratory, X-ray, consultation, and pharmacy services in one building to reduce stress and improve patient outcomes.
