The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Urged Women to Key into Alhaji Yahaya Bello's Administration.

The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Bolanle Amupitan has urged women in Okene to key into Alhaji Yahaya Bello's Administration, adding that it has lots of programs for their benefits.

This was disclosed during the inauguration ceremony of GYBSWoN Okene Chapter, saying that the network will aid women at the Grassroot to be closer and be able to communicate with the government through various representatives.

The Honourable Commissioner advised women to be active in politics so that they can equally be represented at every sphere in government.

Mrs. Amupitan also encouraged women to embrace various business loans and empowerment programme which are put in place by the government to help alleviate poverty among women.

Adding that soft and agric loans giving to women are meant for small scale business owners and women in agric to help boost their businesses.

The Wife of the Executive Governor of Kogi State Mrs. Rashida Bello has called on women in Okene to surport Governor Yahaya Bello's Administration.

This was disclosed in the On-going inauguration ceremony of GYBSWoN Okene chapter today, by the Special Adviser on Media to Her Excellency, Mrs. Adesoro, representing The Wife of the Executive Governor.

Her Excellency, advised Women in Okene to embrace GYBSWoN as this is an avenue to be closer to the government and be able to communicate freely with His Excellency through various representatives.

Mrs. Rashida Bello also encouraged women to participate fully in politics, be able to represent women in every sphere in the state.

HAWKER GETS SUPPORT FROM COMMISSIONER

Hope seems to have cone alive for Munirat Mohammed who dropped out of school due to lack of fund, today received financial support from the Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development.

12 years old Munirat Muhammed who is a primary six drop out, hawks groundnut and kulikuli while her mom hawks beans along Lokoja-Abuja highway to make ends meet.

The Commissioner, Hon Bolanle Amupitan who has always been about promoting girl child education in the State, stated that this was a step in ensuring that female children in the state gets educated.

Hon. Amupitan emphasized that this would not be the only gesture she would extend to Munirat and her family, adding that she as well as her family would be properly cared for.

In her remarks, the mother of the beneficiaries Zainab Muhammed expressed her gratitude to the commissioner and prayed that God continues to bless her.

HON AMUPITAN CHARGED WOMEN TO BE INDEPENDENT.
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon Bolanle Amupitan has advised women not to be dependent on their spouses, but rather find a way of generating additional income to support the family.

Hon Amupitan stated this recently while addressing Okun Ladies Association who paid her a courtesy visit in her office said through different skill acqusition programmes like tailoring, farming, baking, hairdressing and others are the various skills they could venture into for self dependent.

She also advised women to form cooperatives so that they can benefit from loan programs such as GEEP (Grassroot Enterprise Empowerment Fund) and NAWEEF ( National Women Economic Empowerment Fund) which was initiated by the government to empower women.

Amupitan expressed passions to alleviate the sufferings of women by training them in different empowerment programmes.
she urged the Association to build a strong group to ensure meaningful development in the state and serve as model to other women associations.
