It was with deep sorrow, but total submission to the will of God that late Mama Veronica Chombu Atume, was laid to rest at her husband’s country home in Onmba Aondo, Tsambe, Gwer West Local Government of Benue State.
Mama Veronica lived a life of humility, love, kindness and dedication to her family and community. Her passing is a painful loss not only to her immediate family, especially her son, Engr. Felix Atume, but also to all relatives, friends and associates whose lives she touched positively.
As the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee (CPC) for the burial ceremony, I consider it a great privilege to have served in coordinating the successful farewell accorded to our departed mother. Personally, her death is even more touching to me because, she was a female cousin to my biological mother.
Though she is no longer with us physically, the memories of her warmth, wisdom and motherly counsel will continue to remain in our hearts. We pray that God in his infinite mercy should grant the entire Atume family the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss.
May the gentle soul of Mama Veronica Chombu Atume rest in perfect peace, Amen.
