..holds strategic engagements with Etulo women, Hausa and Idoma Youths

As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, former Councillor of Township Council Ward and renowned grassroot mobilizer, Hon. Dantala Akuga, has intensified mobilization efforts in support of the re-election bids of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a series of strategic meetings held separately with Etulo women, Hausa women and Idoma youths in Katsina-Ala, Hon. Akuga urged members of the various communities to remain steadfast in their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration at both the state and federal levels.

Speaking during the engagements, Hon. Akuga commended the leadership of H.E. Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia Phd, noting that the administration has recorded significant achievements across critical sectors and has substantially fulfilled the mandate entrusted to it by the people of Benue State.

According to him, the successes being recorded by the Benue State Government have been greatly strengthened by the support and partnership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration continues to provide the enabling environment for developmental initiatives across the country.

He called on the people to remain united and committed to ensuring the continuity of both administrations in 2027, stressing that sustaining the current leadership would guarantee the consolidation of ongoing developmental projects and the delivery of more democratic dividends.

Hon. Akuga also lauded Hon. Prince Solomon Wombo, the Imienger I Tiv, for his unwavering commitment to community development through various empowerment programmes targeted at women and youths. He described Prince Wombo as a dependable leader whose interventions have positively impacted numerous lives across katsina-Ala and Sankera at large.

He further charged the people of katsina-Ala particularly the Township community to continue supporting the Executive Chairman of Katsina-Ala Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Justine Shaku, whom he described as a father figure and a true friend of the Etulo community.

Hon Akuga noted that the chairman's inclusive leadership style and commitment to the welfare of all ethnic groups within the local government have fostered peace, unity, and development, adding that greater opportunities and benefits would continue to flow to the people through sustained support and cooperation.

The meetings witnessed robust participation from community stakeholders, youth leaders, women groups, and political supporters, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the APC and its leadership at the state and national levels.

GOV. ALIA SWEARS IN NEW HIGH COURT JUDGE, REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR THE JUDICIARY.

Wednesday, June 3 2026.

The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has swore in Hon. Justice Christine Terlumun Clement Ended as a Judge of the Benue State High Court.

The event took place today at the Old Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House.

He described the appointment of the new Justice as a significant milestone in the administration of justice in the state.

The Governor in his speech at the occasion stated that the appointment was a recognition of Justice Ende's distinguished career spanning over three decades in legal practice, judicial administration, human rights advocacy, and public service.

He noted that the new judge's wealth of experience, including her service at African Bank Plc, the National Human Rights Commission, and as Deputy Chief Registrar and Admiralty Marshal of the Federal High Court, attests to her competence and preparedness for the Bench.

He revealed that the appointment increases the number of judges in Benue State from 32 to 33, while raising the number of female judges from 13 to 14, describing the development as a reflection of his administration's commitment to inclusivity, equal opportunity, and women's advancement in leadership.

Reaffirming the administration's "HE for SHE" philosophy, Governor Alia said sustainable development can only be achieved when women are given equal opportunities to contribute their talents and expertise to nation-building.

He urged Justice Ende to uphold the Constitution and discharge her duties with integrity, independence, courage, and fairness, emphasizing that the judiciary remains the last hope of the common man.

The Governor also commended the National Judicial Council, the Judicial Service Commission, and the leadership of the Benue State Judiciary for their roles in the appointment, while assuring continued government support for the judiciary in strengthening justice delivery and the rule of law.

BREAKING NEWS

APPEAL COURT AFFIRMS OMALE AS APC CHAIRMAN IN BENUE STATE, DECLARES AGADA'S TENURE EXPIRED.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Makurdi on Wednesday has ruled in favour of the Dr. Benjamin Omale-led Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, holding that the tenure of the Austin Agada-led State Working Committee expired in February 2026.

In its judgment, the appellate court set aside the earlier position that recognized the Agada-led executive and held that there was no basis for the continuation of a tenure that had already elapsed.

The court maintained that since the tenure of the Agada-led executive expired in February, any claim to remain in office beyond that period could not be sustained.
