Wife of Niger State Governor, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago has appreciated the Nigerian Governor's Spouses Forum and the UN Women, for organizing the training and capacity building workshop for wives of Governors in Abuja.
The wife of the Governor was a participant at the training workshop, on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence which took place 10th November, 2023 at theTranscorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
In a statement signed by her Chief Press Secretary, Hadiza Abdullahi Maikano, she said the SGBV training workshop has greatly increased their comprehension and understanding of Ending Violence against women and girls in their various States.
Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago, while commending the First Lady of Kwara State and Chairperson of the Governor's Spouses Forum, Ambassador Professor Olufolake Abdulrazaq for her heightened efforts and service to the Forum and women folk, called on her fellow Governor's wives to take the SGBV campaign with Solemnness and dedication.
She further reaffirmed her commitment to Ending Gender-Based Violence in Niger State, and will in the coming days unveil plans for her office.
The workshop had in attendance wives of State Governors, UN Women Representative to Nigeria, Miss Beatrice Eyong, the Acting Head of Development Cooperation, European Union Delegation to Nigeria, Mr Reuben Alba Aguilera, amongst others.
The programme ended after series of lectures, with focus on Sexual and Gender-Based Violenc(SGBV).
