Nsukka PDP LGA Meeting Ends in Resounding Success: Unity, Democratic Dividends, and Party Dominance Take Center Stage
The Nsukka PDP LGA meeting, held on March 8, 2025, was a resounding success, with a massive turnout from all 20 wards of the LGA. Mayor of Nsukka, Engr Jude Asogwa, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LG, played chief host and used the platform to also present his scorecard, highlighting ongoing, executed, and commissioned projects, as well as administrative moves to promote democratic dividends.
The meeting was conducted by Hon. Chris Ezema, the PDP Chairman and the PDP Executives at the LGA level. This is the first official LGA meeting after their inauguration. Despite the short notice, the experienced chairman quickly mobilized, invited, and informed stakeholders, resulting in a thrilling turnout of members.
In his speech, Hon. Ezema expressed gratitude to the members for their support and urged them to consolidate the party's dominance to gain more democratic dividends. He emphasized the importance of honesty, unity, and "sticking to the truth", and commended Governor Mbah's innovative initiatives in various sectors, which have transformed Enugu State. Ezema termed Governor Mbah as a "talk and do" governor who has carried everyone along, leaving no ward or LGA behind.
The Chairman assured party members of his commitment to being a leader for all and pledged to foster unity and maintain the party's dominance in the LGA. He appreciated all stakeholders for their unwavering support to the party.
The Executive Chairman of Nsukka LG, Engr Jude Chinedu Asogwa, along with his deputy, Hon Samuel Chidiebere Iyanyi, expressed delight at the massive turnout and urged members to align with the "Tomorrow's Fresh Prospective" of the PDP-led government in the LGA.
Other notable speakers, including Hon Pius Ezugwu, HoA Member representing Nsukka East; Hon Steve Odoh; Hon Barr Tony Ugwu; and Dr (Mrs) Chinyere Onyeisi, SPA to the Governor on Education and Innovation; they all reaffirmed their total support to the party and charged party faithfuls to remain steadfast in the PDP government. They noted that Governor Mbah's administration is committed to delivering the dividends of democracy, as witnessed in all 260 wards in Enugu State.
The meeting was attended by many top stakeholders, with a few absentees stating their reasons or being on state duty.
