THREE YEARS OF PURPOSEFUL, IMPACTFUL AND EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP: A COMMENDATION TO HIS EXCELLENCY, DR. PETER NDUBUISI MBAH, TRANSCENDENTAL GOVERNOR OF ENUGU STATE
On behalf of the Government and people of Oji River Local Government Area, I heartily congratulate you, Your Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, transcendental Governor of Enugu State, on the celebration of your third anniversary in office as the visionary Governor of Enugu State.
Over the past three years, Your Excellency, you have exemplified purposeful, impactful and excellent leadership in Enugu State. Since taking office on 29th May, 2023, you have advanced strategic reforms, firm commitment to peace and security, community-driven development, workers’ wellbeing, and institutional renewal across Enugu State.
In these three years of decisive leadership, your administration has achieved significant progress in education, healthcare, infrastructure development, transportation, agro-industrialization, youth and sports development, ICT, tourism, human development and security. Remarkably, your commitment to improving education through better learning outcomes and hands-on, experiential learning is evident through the construction of Smart Green School in each of the 260 electoral wards in Enugu State, allocation of a significant percentage of the annual budget to education, exceeding UNESCO recommendation, training and retraining of teachers into innovative educators skilled in digital tools, critical thinking, and experiential learning methods, amongst others. These steps have restored confidence in our public education system in Enugu State.
From massive roads construction and Urban renewal projects to efficient and functional healthcare facilities, innovative transportation system, sustainable eco-friendly tourism, your administration has delivered critical infrastructure that touches lives daily. The building of 260 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres across Enugu State, the construction of a 300-bed ultramodern Enugu International Hospital, the 10,000-hectare mega Enugu Smart City, launching of Enugu Air, now approved to operate regional flights and set to launch international routes by year's end, making movement in and out of Enugu seamless, efficient, and reliable. In addition, the construction of Ultra-modern Bus Terminals across the state, and procurement of CNG buses have eased transportation and improve connectivity for Ndi Enugu.
Your Excellency, under your administration, we have witnessed prudent fiscal management, improved Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), transparent budgeting that prioritized people-centered projects, recovery and revitalisation of moribund state assets such as International Conference Center Enugu, Hotel Presidential, United Palm Products Limited, Sunrise Flour Mills, Nigergas Company Limited, amongst others. Initiatives like the digitization of revenue collection in Enugu State reflect a deliberate plan to secure our State's economic future.
Rangers International Football Club of Enugu winning the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title stands as clear proof of the impact of your administration's investment in youth and sports development in Enugu State, with this year's victory marking a second NPFL title in three years under your administration. The targeted investment in agro-industrialization through the establishment of Farm Estates across all the 260 electoral wards in Enugu State has positioned Enugu State as a hub of food production and agro-processing. Strengthened security across Enugu State has fostered a climate of peace and normalcy, allowing businesses, farms, and public services to operate without disruption.
Your proactive approach to governance has not only enhanced the quality of lives of Ndi-Enugu, but has also established Enugu State as a benchmark for development and good governance in Nigeria.
We in Oji River LGA take pride in this journey of transformation, and we remain committed to standing with you, Your Excellency, as you lead Enugu State to new heights.
