THE BRIDE
By peace Akinmusire
" i love you too"
They stared at each other in silent awe. "You'd better go back to your house now" he said, trying to be strong. Mel looked at him, hurt by his apparent rejection. "You don't want me?". She wanted to be with him. She wanted to love him. it felt so right in his arms, kissing him. He gave a low laugh and it was half a groan. "I want you very much, Mel. But I'm not sure if this is the right thing" he said. "I want to stay with you, Dave" her voice was a gentle whisper. "I want to love you Dave". He turned his head press a kiss on her palm. He had been alone for so long, But in her arms, he knew he could find everlasting love and joy. "Ah Mel" he groaned and then casted all cautions to the wind as he gathered her near. Dave held her to his heart, cherishing her nearness. Mel had captured him with her innocence and beauty. She was everything he'd ever wanted in a woman- she was intelligent and beautiful and he would never let her go.
Without another word, Dave lifted her in his arms and carried her to the bed. He lowered her upon its welcoming softness, then left her for a moment to lock the door. This would be their haven from reality. This would be their time to love and be loved. He picked the condoms.
Mel watched Dave and smiled as he returned to her side. She lifted her arms in welcome to him and he went to her without reservation. He covered her body with his, searing her with the heat of his need. She gasped at the contact, trilling to have him so close. His mouth covered hers, tasting of her sweetness, parting her lips to delve within, She met him in that exchange. Then his lips left hers to seek out the sweetness of her throat. She arched towards him as delight coursed through her.
