THE GOVERNOR-ELECT CHIEF WILLIE OBIANO MOURNS EKWUEME

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Maduaburochukwu Obiano has described the demise of the former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme as a huge loss to Nigeria.

Reacting to the news of the death from his Aguleri country home where he had gone to mark his victory in the last Saturday's election with his family, Governor Obiano said that he was yet to come to terms with the reality of Dr Ekwueme's death as it was hard to contemplate the void that his passage has created.

"A great iroko has fallen. Nigeria has lost a statesman. Ndigbo have lost an illustrious son. Anambra has lost a father. But I have lost both a father and a friend. I have lost a mentor. This is a big loss on all fronts," the Governor declared.

Narrating the direct influence the late statesman had had on him, Governor Obiano further said, "I was close to Dr Ekwueme. I sought his advice on so many things and he was always ready to help. He attended every major event we have held in the past three years in our efforts to make Anambra a better place. You always knew where you stood with him on any issue. His death is a big personal loss to me," Governor Obiano explained.

The governor further lamented that the elder statesman passed away at a trying period in the life of the nation when his bridge-building talent was most needed.

Describing him as the "architect" of a balanced Nigeria, Governor Obiano observed that only few Nigerians living or dead could match Dr Ekwueme's contributions to a fair and just federation in the nation's seemingly endless search for peace and equity.

He pointed out that even in his last days, Dr Ekwueme fought gallantly to ensure that equity prevailed in his home state of Anambra, speaking out fearlessly in favour of sustaining the geopolitical balance that has entrenched peace in the state.

"Dr Ekwueme's life is an open book that should inspire generations of Nigerians who need a beacon to guide them into evolving as true patriots who are willing to make sacrifices for the greatness of the country. He is an icon whose place is assured in our hearts in Anambra State," Governor Obiano further observed.

According to him, Dr Ekwueme's legacy would never die because whenever the story of modern Nigeria is told, Alex Ekwueme's name would be remembered.

"I wish to express my deepest condolences to the illustrious Ekwueme family and the people of Oko, his home town and to Ndi Anambra in general. Ndonu Ndi Anambra. I pray that God Almighty will give us the fortitude to bear this grave loss," Governor Obiano further added.

CHIEF WILLIE MMADUABUCHUKWU OBIANO REMAINS THE APGA GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE

The court, presided over by Justice John Tsoho, delivered the judgment on October 25, 2017.

In the judgment, the court granted three out of the prayers of the plaintiff, Chief Martin Agbaso, and his faction of APGA, according to the court papers, the reliefs granted were for the abridging of the time allowed within which the named Defendants can enter appearance to defend the suit from 30 days to 10 days; substituted service of copies of the Originating Summons and all other court processes on Obiano, which will now be by publishing it in Sun newspaper and pasting on the walls of the Anambra State Liaison Office in Abuja and Anambra State Governorโ€™s Lodge; and an accelerated hearing of the suit.
However, Justice Tsoho did not grant Agbasoโ€™s prayer for the Independent National Electoral Commission not to recognise Obiano as the APGA candidate for the election and for Obiano to stop parading himself as the partyโ€™s candidate, Tsoho subsequently adjourned the hearing in the suit to November 9, 2017 for the Application on Notice.

NB: Find attached copies of the court papers below

We call on all well meaning and good people of Anambra to disregard the highly spurious publication making the rounds as this is clearly the handiwork of disgruntled elements poised to exterminate the good works of his excellency, little wonder they persistently hinged on the destruction of the three ultra modern flyovers as core campaign manifesto.

LADY BIANCA ENDORSED WILLIE AS A CREDIBLE CANDIDATE๐Ÿ‘‡

The widow of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Bianca Ojukwu, has enjoined Anambarians to ensure that they cast their votes for Governor Wille Obiano in next monthโ€™s gubernatorial election.
Bianca stated this at Ekwueme Square in Awka, the Anambara State capital, during a rally of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
She stressed that the unity of APGA is a testament that the legacy of her husband is still intact.
Bianca said: โ€œNow I know that my late husband, Emeka Ojukwuโ€™s house has not been demolished and it canโ€™t be demolished.โ€
Bianca also stated that ex-party officials, who have used and dumped the party, will never progress politically and she enjoined everyone to join hands with the party to move the state forward.
She said: โ€œAPGA is not the party that forgets her people but anyone who used APGA and left will not prosper politically.
โ€œAnyone who was in APGA and comes back to ask you to vote for his new party, ask him of what he did with what my late husband, Emeka Ojukwu, left for him.
โ€œUmunne, time has come, we have no one else but God and as the lord surrounds Israel, so does He surround APGA, Anambra State.
โ€œOur creed is โ€˜Be your brotherโ€™s keeperโ€™ and the legacy my late husband, Emeka Ojukwu, left for us shall not die.โ€ of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Bianca Ojukwu, has enjoined Anambarians to ensure that they cast their votes for Governor Wille Obiano in next monthโ€™s gubernatorial election.

ANAMBRA DESERVES THE BEST

Chief Willie Mmaduabuchukwu Obiano has become the campaign manifesto for all the gubernatorial candidates which clearly shows how unprepared and tactless they are to govern our dear state, Anambra deserves a top notch leader who knows his onion in terms of leadership, Chief Willie Mmaduabuchukwu Obiano is our best bet, he has refused to mortgage our future to some greedy persons in the name of 'godfatherism' and the product of that stride is a happy Anambra in a secured environment with enough to development to enjoy.
Your excellency it's said that 'osisi miri mpuru ka umu aka n'atu okwute' transliterated 'the tree that bears fruit gets pelted by children', the die is cast, we witnessed a grand flag off on Monday 2/10/2017 at the Alex Ekwueme square, what more could be given to the best governor in the east of the niger than a deserving support to 'chiri gaba niru na nke ichiri di anyi mma'......let the jobless media thugs of Mr. Peter Obiokwute wake from slumber coz the good people of Anambra know the truth and won't buy the heavy lies of failed APC and drowning PDP, get the facts right!!, anyi ejebego!!!, no vacancy in agu awka

APGA FELICITATES WITH THE MUSLIM FAITHFULS AS THEY CELEBRATE EID-EL-KABIR

Dr Victor Oye, the National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, has advised Muslim faithful to foster peace, mutual coexistence, religious tolerance and progressive development as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
Oye, in a statement on Friday, urged the Muslim Ummah to use the celebration to meditate and work toward Nigeriaโ€™s unity.
He said that Nigerians should eschew selfish interest, but project national interest and integration.
He said: โ€œI felicitate with the Muslim Community across the country as they celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir.
โ€œAs a political party, APGA wishes to appeal that Nigerians should not allow personal desires blur their vision to continue to work for the sustenance of our democratic ideals and unity of the country.โ€
He urged the faithful to pray that God would keep Nigeria healthy, progressive and united for the well-being of every Nigerian.
Also, Chief Sam Oraegbunam, the Gubernatorial Candidate of Hope Democratic Party in the November 18 Governorship Election in Anambra, prayed for peaceful celebration.
Oraegbunam called for continued prayer for President Muhammadu Buhari so that he could deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
He said: โ€œI wish our Muslim brothers and sisters happy, happy Sallah. I urge all Nigerians to unite and support our government to deliver democracy dividends to the masses.
โ€œMy prayer is that we shall have peaceful and crime-free public holiday.โ€
