I emphasized that the success of the party begins at the unit level, declaring the movement's resolve with the slogan, "Operation Win Your Unit for APC." Every party member must take responsibility for delivering his or her unit through effective grassroots engagement, continuous voter education, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the APC.

Oke who frowned at the way and manner the resources of the state is being managed by the Adeleke-led government in the state said Oyebamiji is prepared to rescue Osun from the drift of collapse being plunged into by the current administration.

"The incumbent is gone. His days in office are numbered. The truth remains that the government has failed the people of Osun State on all fronts. Is it in the areas of governance? The current government has displayed incompetence.

"The incumbent government has not been fair to the Osun people. The resources that have accrued to the state have been plundered and misused. We don't have school buildings, no teachers in public schools again. It is unfortunate that those schools we attended can no longer function. We can't send our children to those schools again. Same goes to health, agriculture, mining and other sectors. All these are signal to the fact that Adeleke is a total misfit.

"It is unfortunate that there sing-song is paying salary forgetting that workers deserve pay. It is not an in-thing that someone is paying salary. These are all the issues that our party is going to resolve. We are coming up with programmes that will address the welfare and general well-being of the people. We are irrevocably committed to banish poverty, hunger, create employment, restore good governance and the lost glory.

"I have always said this: we are experts in removing a sitting Governor. We will remove Adeleke before 10:00pm on 15th of August, 2026. Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO will win and be declared the validly elected governor of Osun", Oke affirmed.

COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED BY THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS, APC, YOUTH LEADERS AT THE STATE, LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND WARD LEVELS ON YOUTH INCLUSION IN GOVERNANCE AND PARTICIPATORY DEMOCRACY

Date: 21 April 2026

Preamble

We, the Youth Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, drawn from the State, Local Government, and Ward levels, having convened in a spirit of unity, responsibility, and progressive engagement, held exhaustive deliberations on the future of our Party and the indispensable role of young people in shaping governance in Nigeria.

Guided by the enduring principle that “the future belongs to those who prepare for it today,” and mindful of the saying that “youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but partners in progress today,” we affirm that the strength, sustainability, and electoral vitality of our great Party are inextricably tied to the active inclusion of its youthful population.

Recognising that democracy thrives on participation, fairness, and generational balance, we underscore that meaningful youth inclusion must transcend rhetoric and ceremonial appointments, and must be reflected in tangible opportunities within the elective political space.

Communiqué

After thorough and constructive deliberations, we hereby resolve as follows:

1. That the All Progressives Congress, APC, as a progressive and forward-looking Party, must deliberately institutionalise youth inclusion across all strata of governance, ensuring that young people are not merely mobilisers, but decision makers and policy drivers.

2. That the time has come for the Party to demonstrate practical commitment to participatory democracy by creating enabling pathways for competent and committed young members to contest for elective offices at all levels, including the Presidency, Governorship, National Assembly, State Houses of Assembly, and Local Government Councils.

3. That youth participation must not be limited to appointive roles, but must extend to the equitable allocation of party tickets, recognising merit, capacity, loyalty, and grassroots engagement as key determinants.

4. That the Party leadership at all levels is urged to adopt clear, transparent, and youth-friendly policies that will lower structural barriers, including financial and procedural constraints, which often hinder young aspirants.

5. That mentorship frameworks should be strengthened within the Party to allow experienced leaders to guide, support, and prepare young members for leadership responsibilities, thereby ensuring continuity and stability.

6. That deliberate quotas or affirmative considerations should be explored to guarantee a reasonable percentage of elective positions for qualified youths, in line with global democratic best practices.

7. That the APC must position itself as the Party of generational inclusion by embracing innovation, fresh ideas, and the dynamism that young people bring into governance and political development.

8. That unity, loyalty, and discipline remain paramount, and we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the ideals, leadership, and electoral success of our great Party.

Conclusion

In conclusion, we respectfully call on our revered Party leaders to rise to the occasion of history by embracing this noble cause. As the saying goes, “a society that fails to harness the energy of its youth mortgages its future.” The future we speak of is not distant, it is already upon us, and it demands bold, inclusive, and visionary action.

We reiterate that our demand is not a concession, but a rightful place in the democratic process, earned through dedication, competence, and consistent service to the Party.

Let it be known that we stand ready, prepared, and committed to contribute meaningfully to governance, if given the opportunity.

Signed:
Osun State APC Youth Leader.

APC YOUTH LEADERS REAFFIRM COMMITMENT TO PARTY’S VICTORY IN OSUN 2026

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) youth wing in Osun State on Monday held a strategic engagement aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.

The meeting, convened at the IleriOluwa Campaign Office, brought together youth leaders from across the wards, local governments, and senatorial districts under the leadership of the State Youth Leader, Alhaji Olagoke Akinwemimo.

The gathering initially scheduled to host the Director General of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign, Hon. Oluwole Oke. However, due to his engagement in another official party assignment outside Osogbo, the DG was unavoidably absent.

In his stead, the youth leaders proceeded with the meeting with the party’s governorship flagbearer and frontline candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO). Addressing the gathering, Oyebamiji charged the youth leaders to intensify their mobilization efforts across their respective local government areas.

He emphasized that his administration, upon victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election, would be youth-driven, inclusive, and responsive to the aspirations of young people. He urged the youth leaders to take ownership of the electoral process, describing the forthcoming election as a defining moment that must be collectively secured for the APC.

Also speaking, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olatunji, reaffirmed that the envisioned APC administration would prioritize youth inclusion and empowerment. He encouraged the youth leaders to remain steadfast and proactive, assuring them of continued support from party leadership.

In his response, the State Youth Leader, Alhaji Olagoke Akinwemimo, expressed the unwavering loyalty and commitment of the APC youth structure to the candidacy of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. He reiterated that it is the collective responsibility of all youth leaders to mobilize, canvass, and deliver massive votes for the APC in the forthcoming election.

The meeting ends with a renewed sense of unity, purpose, and determination among the youth leaders to ensure a resounding victory for the APC in 2026.
