*United APC Registered Support Groups Begin Market-to-Market Consultation in Osun*

The United APC Registered Support Groups have commenced a market-to-market consultation aimed at mobilising grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2026 Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

The consultation exercise, led by the Director-General of the group, Alhaja Risikat Lawal, took place on Thursday, January 29, at the Iree Market in Boripe Local Government Area and the popular Alamisi Market in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area.

During the visits, members of the group divided themselves into two clusters to ensure effective engagement with traders across the markets. One cluster was led by the Director-General, Alhaja Risikat Lawal, while the other was led by the Chairman of the group, Mr. Olajuwon Arafat. The teams moved through different sections of the markets, engaging market men and women on political developments in Osun State and soliciting their support for the APC and its gubernatorial candidate.

The group received a warm reception from the leadership and traders of both markets. At the Iree Market, the Iyaloja, alongside other market leaders from Ororuwo and Aagba, accompanied the group throughout their tour of the market, reflecting the level of acceptance and cooperation extended to the visitors.

Many traders expressed excitement at the visit, describing it as encouraging and reassuring. They interacted freely with members of the United APC Registered Support Group, pledged their support for the APC and Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, and highlighted various needs within their market communities. The traders also appealed for empowerment programmes and improved welfare initiatives under the anticipated administration of Oyebamiji.

Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Alhaja Risikat Lawal explained that the market-to-market consultation was part of the group’s strategic plan ahead of the 2026 governorship election. According to her, the initiative is designed to engage market stakeholders directly and guide them in making informed political decisions.

She added that the consultation exercise is also intended to caution market men and women against what she described as "the tricks of the present frivolous and ceremonial government" in the state, while reaffirming the group's commitment to mobilising massive grassroots support for the APC.

Alhaja Lawal noted that the market outreach marks the beginning of a series of activities lined up by the United APC Registered Support Groups as part of their preparations for the 2026 election in Osun State.

"Today, at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, I took another deliberate step in my lifelong journey of learning as I matriculated into a Doctoral Programme in Public Administration and Governance of the University, Faculty of Administration.

This moment is not about adding titles, but about deepening capacity. Leadership and governance must continually be strengthened by knowledge, because societies are not transformed by chance or happenstance, but through deliberate investment in ideas, systems and people.

My academic journey reflects a consistent preparation for service. I hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Banking and Finance of The Polytechnic, Ibadan; a Master’s degree in Public Administration of the Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration of the University of Ado-Ekiti. I am also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. Each stage has further sharpened my understanding of institutions, development, and responsible leadership.

This doctoral programme reinforces my commitment to continuous personal development as a tool for collective social engineering. If we truly desire better governance and a more functional society, we must be willing to constantly re-educate and re-equip ourselves for the demands of our time.

Beyond personal growth, this step is about example. In a society where many young people are searching for direction, I hope this decision speaks clearly: education is not a phase; it is a lifelong responsibility.

I am grateful to God, my family, mentors, and all who continue to support this journey. The pursuit of knowledge remains central to my commitment to serve society better."
