ADO-ODO/OTA LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL INVITES EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, CHARGES HIM ON CLEANLINESS, SECURITY, ROAD SAFETY AND BOUNDARY ISSUES.

The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government today appeared before the Legislative Council at the Council Chamber following an invitation extended by the lawmakers to deliberate on critical issues affecting the development, safety, and welfare of residents across the local government area.
During the session, Honourable Councillors commended the efforts of the Ogun State Government in promoting environmental sustainability and charged the Executive Chairman to complement these efforts by formulating and implementing policies that will ensure a cleaner and healthier Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government. The legislators emphasized the need for effective environmental sanitation and proper waste management across all communities.
The Legislators also drew attention to the security situation within the local government and urged the Executive Chairman to strengthen collaboration with security agencies and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the protection of lives and property. The lawmakers noted that adequate security remains essential for sustainable development and economic growth.
On road safety, the legislators expressed concern over the increasing rate of accidents involving speeding motorcycles on major roads within the local government. Consequently, the Executive Chairman was charged to liaise with the Ogun State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure for the construction of speed bumps and other traffic-calming measures at strategic locations to reduce accidents and improve public safety.
Furthermore, the Legislators raised concerns over recurring boundary issues involving neighbouring local governments, particularly Ifo Local Government, as well as border communities with Lagos State. The lawmakers urged the Executive Chairman to take proactive measures to protect the interests of residents and prevent incidents of double taxation and other challenges arising from boundary disputes.
Responding to the issues raised, the Executive Chairman expressed appreciation to the Legislative Council for bringing the matters to his attention. He assured the lawmakers and the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government that prompt action would be taken on all concerns highlighted during the engagement and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to delivering good governance and improving the welfare of residents.
The Legislative Council reaffirmed its commitment to effective legislative oversight and constructive engagement with the executive arm in the collective interest of the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government.
