WHEREAS:
1. Sėyì Makinde is the governor, hence Chief Security Officer (CSO), of Oyo State,
2. As governor and CSO, Makinde, as well as other governors in Nigeria, do not exercise control over the Security agencies in the state he governs,
3. A total of 46 persons, comprising school pupils, teachers, and a principal, were abducted by armed gunmen on May 15, 2026, in the Ahoro-Esiele community of Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, in highly questionable circumstances,
4. While the entire country was thrown into heartrending lamentation and mourning on account of this calamity that befell the entire country, agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government, headed by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the CSO of the whole country the effective Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, blamed and accused Governor Sěyì Makinde for masterminding the sad incident, just to score a political point against them, just because the governor does not belong to their cheating and deceitful political party,
5. Following unrelenting public outcry from the entire country, 44 surviving abductees were released from captivity in July 2027, 2 teachers had been killed by the terrorists while in captivity, under even more questionable circumstances. Nigerians rejoiced at the news of their release from kidnappers' den, yet certain questions lingered, such as:
A. How could so many armed terrorists enter the community on so many motor bikes in broad daylight, carried out their dastardly operation, and moved out with so many persons held captive, without detection or interception by Security operatives? This has been the usual pattern in other parts of the country ravaged by terrorists and insurgents,
B. how come they were released wearing clean m***i when they were abducted from school wearing their School Uniforms. Some even wore clothes made from similar fabrics?
C. How is it that children who have been in kidnappers' den in the forest for 56 days, exposed to the elements of weather, came out looking so fresh and well? The above and other questions lingered and formed discussion points in the Mass Media and private corners.
6. Governor Sėyì Makinde of Oyo State, who had been maligned by agents of the ruling APC who fingered him for the abduction, with the active support of his state's House Of Assembly, like any noble gentleman and leader should do, called on the United Nations (International Community) to investigate and unravel all matters surrounding this questionable abduction and "rescue" of vulnerable citizens of his state,
7. Ordinary Nigerians are fully in support of this noble call,
8. Nevertheless, the shock came when the APC presidency of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State branch of the party, APC's Senators, Adams Oshiomole, Orji Uzor Kalu and other high ranking members of the same party, loudly and shamelessly condemned the governor's noble call, leading to Senate's rejection of the call which is applauded and supported by well meaning citizens,
MY TAKE: APC's condemnation of Governor Makinde's call for forensic investigation by the United Nations is a big indictment on that party. It fuels suspicion that they know more about this questionable abduction and subsequent release saga than they are willing to make public. It is even fuelling suspicion that they may have a hand in the entire act of wickedness!
