Dominion City Akwakuma Owerri The church is not just a place where we go for weekly service. In other words, the church is God’s institution for developing the human spirit.

This is the wrong notion people have developed over time – that is, as a place we go for service week – in, week – out. The church as God intended it to be is a place where Christians are trained and developed to become like Christ (Romans 8:29). God set up the church to train and disciple Christians in all aspects of their spiritual life (Matt. 28: 19 - 20). Every aspect of the Christian life nee

We don’t just become efficient in these areas by listening to sermons on Sunday services alone. It is this understanding that informed the establishment of Dominion City Academy, a training school designed to train believers to be effective and successful in all aspects of the Christian life.

Agape is the evidence of the new birth.

Divine love is the greatest and most important. 📖 Mark 12:28–30

Every offense that comes to you is an opportunity to practice love.

And every time you find yourself struggling to forgive, it is a sign that your love tank is low.

Divine love is different from natural love.

Natural love is conditional and can change into hatred, but Agape is unconditional and never fails. It is the kind of love that comes from God and produces lasting commitment.

We were reminded that offense can open the door to the enemy in relationships, but where love abounds, offense loses its power.

📖 Romans 8:35

You are too loaded with God’s love to remain in bitterness and unforgiveness. ❤️‍🔥

Love is not merely a feeling; it is a consciousness and a choice. When offense comes, we overcome it with love.

And as we study 1 Corinthians 13:4, we discover the 14 behaviours that reveal what genuine love looks like.

Our Grand Finale service brought a a powerful reminder from 1 Corinthians 13:1:

Even if you speak in tongues and have all the gifts, without love, it all becomes empty.

The evidence of a believer is not simply in how much we pray or speak in tongues, but in our love life. The fruit of the Spirit begins with love. ❤️

We explored the three kinds of love:

🤍 Philos — Natural love between friends and family.
❤️ Eros — Romantic or chemical love.
❤️‍🔥 Agape — The God-kind of love; unconditional, committed and lasting.

Agape is an action kind of love. It is the love Christ has given us and the love He expects us to demonstrate in our relationships and marriages.
