National President NANISS,Comr.Ahmed idris Tatiko;
Rejoice and celebrate the international day of persons/students living with disabilities.
Each year on December 3rd, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities promotes the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. The day raises awareness of the political, economic, social and cultural aspects disability affects people around the world.
More than 1 billion people in the world have a disability. A person (Students) with a disability may attain lower educational achievements. As a result, disability may lead to fewer economic opportunities. For many years, discrimination, lack of access to services, lack of social support, and ignorance about disability have been some of the main challenges persons with disabilities face. Even in today’s age of inclusivity, these challenges continue.They live without supports like wheelchairs and other mobility devices. Children can’t attend school, and adults can’t work.
National President, Comrade Ahmed Idris Tatiko, urge us to:
1. Look for opportunities to be more inclusive of persons with disabilities
2. Teach your children to treat those who are different with kindness and respect
3. Donate to an organization that supports persons with disabilities
4. If you’re a business owner, offers discounts to people with disabilities, as well as their families and caregivers.
