PATIGI LGA COUCIL CHAIRMAN RECEIVES COMMUNITY LEADERS OVER MARRI/NDANAKU INCIDENT, COMMENDS INTER-COMMUNAL RESOLUTION, CALLS FOR CALM AND COOPERATION

The Executive Chairman of Patigi LGA, Hon. Ahmed Adam Rufai, today received leaders from Ndanaku, Dinna, Marri, Ekosa, and Emikpangi communities during a courtesy visit to his office, following the recent security challenges affecting the axis.

It will be recalled that the Executive Chairman had earlier visited the affected communities and scenes of the attacks to obtain first-hand information and demonstrate solidarity with the people during the difficult period.

While receiving the Village Heads of Ndanaku, Marri, Dinna, Emikpangi, and their respective delegations, Hon. Rufai stated that the meeting was aimed at getting direct briefings on the situation and reinforcing the need for unity among the communities.

In their separate remarks, the community leaders expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman for his proactive response, including his visits to the affected areas, consistent communication, and the initiative to convene the meeting for constructive dialogue.

REJOINDER: DISCLAIMER OF FALSE PUBLICATION BY The Informant247 ON ALLEGED VEHICLE PURCHASE

The attention of the Patigi Local Government Council has been drawn to a publication by The Informant247 dated April 12, 2026, titled “Patigi council chairman buys N68m personal car from LG allocations… deputy to get N70m vehicle this year.”

The Council wishes to categorically state that the claims contained in the report are false, misleading, and a gross misrepresentation of facts.

For the avoidance of doubt:
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Ahmed Adam Rufai, and the Vice Chairperson, Hon. Janet Aina have not purchased any vehicles using Local Government funds since assuming office. Both officials have continued to make use of official vehicles assigned to their offices.

At no time was any provision made in the 2025 budget for the purchase of personal vehicles for either the Executive Chairman or the Vice Chairperson as alleged in the said publication.

The Executive Chairman, Vice Chairperson, and other Council officials only receive their approved statutory allowances in line with existing regulations. No additional or unauthorized expenditure of such nature has occurred.

The present administration remains firmly committed to prudence, transparency, and accountability in the management of public funds. Priority continues to be given to projects and initiatives that directly impact the welfare and development of the people of Patigi Local Government Area.

The Council therefore urges members of the public to disregard the said publication in its entirety, as it is not only inaccurate but capable of misleading the public and undermining the integrity of the Local Government administration under the leadership of Hon. Ahmed Adam Rufai.

We call on The Informant247 to uphold the ethics of journalism by verifying facts before publication and to issue a correction to avoid further dissemination of misinformation.
