Today, I had the great honour of representing His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, as I performed the official kick-off of the 6th Edition of the Federal Education Sector Games (FEDUGAM) Rivers 2026 at the Sharks Football Club Stadium, Port Harcourt.

This important initiative promotes staff wellness, enhances productivity, and strengthens institutional synergy among agencies under the Federal Ministry of Education.

I commend the Federal Ministry of Education for sustaining this programme over the years despite numerous challenges, reflecting its steadfast commitment to fostering unity, teamwork, and excellence within the education sector.

The Rivers State Government is delighted to host the 6th Edition of FEDUGAM, reaffirming its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote development, collaboration, and national integration.

Sports possess the unique power to unite people, foster teamwork, and inspire healthy competition. In this regard, I urge all athletes, participating agencies, and stakeholders to deepen their support for the Games through stronger collaboration, increased financial backing, and sustained institutional commitment to ensure the continued success and growth of the Federal Education Sector Games (FEDUGAM).

This initiative speaks directly to the core of good governance and shared humanity: ensuring that no one is left behind, By addressing immediate needs such as food support, we are not only providing relief but also restoring dignity and hope to many families,

‎Today's outreach is a reminder that social investment is not charity, it is a ‎responsibility. It is a commitment to equity, inclusion, and opportunity for all,‎especially the most vulnerable among us.

‎With utmost respect and humility, I sincerely appreciate the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON for originating the Renewed Hope Initiative, and also I commend, the partners and organizers of this event, for their dedication and commitment. Today, I had the honour of representing His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, at the 44th Convocation Ceremony of Ignatus Ajuru University of Education, Rumolumeni, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

‎This momentous occasion marked a period of reflection, jubilation, and renewed commitment to learning, leadership, and national development.
‎
‎I commend the Governing Council, management, staff, and students for their unwavering dedication to academic excellence and applaud the institution's remarkable progress, particularly in teacher education and infrastructure development.
‎
‎As education is the bedrock of sustainable development, our administration will continue to support initiatives that promote quality education, innovation, research, and improved welfare for staff and students across the State.

Wearing a smile yesterday, I took pride in the strong and vibrant representation of Rivers women at the National Women Mega Empowerment and Rally 2026, themed “The Power of 10 Million: One Voice, One Movement, One Choice.”

The remarkable turnout of women from all 36 states at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium achieved more than just a gathering, it fostered unity of purpose and strengthened a shared national vision. Beyond unifying the platform, the rally stands as a high-impact national intervention designed to deliver tangible empowerment outcomes for women across the country.

It underscores a deliberate effort to mobilize women at large, consolidate nationwide support for inclusive development and promote social cohesion. At the funeral service held yesterday in honour of the revered monarch and Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, His Majesty King Dr. Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V, CFR, DSSRS, we gathered in solemn reflection and tribute.

In the company of the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and other eminent citizens of our dear state and beyond, we paid our last respects as he journeyed to eternal rest.

The service offered a moment to reflect on a life of honour, defined by calmness, dignity, and unwavering strength even in the face of adversity. His was a life truly worthy of emulation.

We will forever remember him for his grace, remarkable composure, and fatherly leadership. During his proactive and impactful reign, I was honoured with the title of Balolo of Opobo Kingdom, a privilege I will always cherish.
