AWARDS OVER TWO MILLION NAIRA SCHOLARSHIPS

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. John Ngubo Otamiri, on Friday, officially launched the second phase of his empowerment program.

The event featured the presentation of official vehicles to the six members of the Etche Local Government Caretaker Committee and operational vehicles to the three Divisional Police Officers in charge of Okehi, Umuebulu, and Ozuzu Divisions to enhance crime prevention.

Additionally, the Chairman presented a vehicle to his Chief Security Officer, Mr. Daniel Nwalele, and an operational vehicle to the Etche Security Planning and Advisory Committee (ESPAC).

Five hundred bags of 50kg rice were also distributed across the nineteen political wards of Etche.

In a surprise move, the Chairman announced educational incentives totaling five hundred thousand Naira each to five Etche indigenes who excelled in the 2024 JAMB examination, representing the five clans of Igboh, Mba, Okehi, Ozuzu, and Ulakwo/Umuselem.

The presentations were performed by the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, representing the Rivers State Governor, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara.

The event was attended by dignitaries, including present and former House of Assembly Members, Caretaker Committee Chairmen, leaders of the Simplified Movement in Rivers State, stakeholders, traditional rulers, and various women and youth groups.

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Barr. John Ngubo Otamiri, on Friday , officially handed over a Sienna vehicle to the Etche Security Peace Advisory Council (ESPAC) chapter of Abara community in Etche.

The ceremony took place at the community hall, attended by esteemed dignitaries, including the Paramount Ruler, Eze . Jonah Nwala, council of chiefs, opinion leaders, and women.

Barr. Otamiri commended Abara community for their proactive initiative in enhancing the security infrastructure of their community and neighboring areas.

He praised their efforts, drawing parallels with the recent distribution of security vehicles to the Nigerian Police Force by His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Governor and leader of Rivers State.

The council chairman announced plans to embark on the second phase of his empowerment program, which includes donating security vehicles to the three divisional police stations in Etche, an operational vehicle to the ESPAC unit, and vehicles for his Chief Security Officer, Daniel Nwalele, and caretaker members.

Barr. Otamiri reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to Abara community, assuring them of his support whenever needed, as his primary responsibility is to ensure that Etche residents receive the dividends of democracy.

ETCHE CTC CHAIRMAN PLAY HOST TO LEADERSHIP OF ETCHE STUDENTS

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Barr. Otamiri John, on Thursday received in audience executives of the National Union of Etche Students (NUES) worldwide at his annex office in Port Harcourt.

The delegation, led by Union President Comr. Anderson Azubuike, sought to familiarize themselves with Barr. Otamiri, the esteemed Grand Patron of the association, and solicit support from the council chairman for the union's development.

Barr. Otamiri expressed his gratitude to the students for considering him worthy of their visit and pledged to render assistance to the student body whenever needed.

The CTC chairman also announced an educational incentive, offering to sponsor the school fees of one indigene from each clan in Etche who scored 270 and above in the JAMB examination.

He promptly directed his Special Adviser on Student Affairs, Comr. Gift Ubabuike, to initiate the profiling process.

The Chairman counseled the students to prioritize their academic pursuits and serve as exemplary ambassadors of Etche in their respective institutions.

He emphasized the importance of academic excellence and responsible conduct, urging them to make their community proud.

BARR JOHN OTAMIRI ATTENDS INAUGURATION OF ETCHE RWUS CHAPTER

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Barr. John Ngubo Otamiri, today demonstrated his commitment to the well-being of Rivers State and its people by supporting the Rivers Women Unite for Sim RWUS Monthly Prayer and inauguration of Etche Local Government chapter held at St. Mathias Anglican Cathedral Church, Okomoko, Etche.

Barr. Otamiri John who earlier sponsored the program also donated the sum of two million naira to the women as logistics and a token of appreciation for their selfless efforts in praying for the state and the performing governor, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara.

During his remarks, the CTC Chairman offered a heartfelt prayer, asking God to continue empowering Governor Fubara with wisdom to navigate the challenges and distractions from the state's detractors, ensuring the sustained delivery of good governance to the people of Rivers State.

Today, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Barr. John Ngubo Otamiri, welcomed a delegation from the National Union of Teachers (NUT) Etche chapter, at his annex office in Port Harcourt.

The delegation, led by its chapter Chairman, Dr. Edi Chukwunonye, aimed to familiarize themselves with the chairman.

Dr. Chukwunonye expressed appreciation to the CTC Chairman for his exemplary leadership style within few months in office.

He also informed the chairman of the challenges facing schools in Etche LGA, seeking solutions and support from the council.

In response, the Etche CTC Chairman, Barr. Otamiri John thanked the delegation for their visit.

He highlighted his administration's achievements, which he said had surpassed those of previous council chairmen.

Otamiri emphasized the need for teachers to excel in their duties, ensuring a better education system for children in the area.

The Chairman attributed his eloquence to the quality education he received at County Grammar School, stressing the importance of dedicated teaching.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency and inclusiveness for the benefit of the people.

ETCHE CTC CHAIRMAN HAILS GOV. FUBARA’S INTERVENTION ON IGBOH-ETCHE/RUMUOKWURUSI ROAD

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Barr. Otamiri John, has commended the Rivers state governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara for his swift intervention in reconstructing the failed sections of Igboh-Etche/Rumuokwurusi road.

Barr. Otamiri said the people of Etche are thrilled by the contractor's mobilization to site, given the road's economic significance to the local government area.

The Chairman stated this when he led members of his cabinet on an inspection tour of the road rehabilitation on Monday.

He thanked governor Fubara for demonstrating his love for the people of Etche, who he said had suffered due to the road's neglect by the previous administration.

The Chairman assured the contractor of the people's support for timely completion of the project.

The Chief of Staff to the Etche Caretaker Chairman, Morgan Nwaobilor, also thanked the governor for responding to the people's request, noting that the road's reconstruction will alleviate daily struggles and boost economic activities.

Mr. Nwaobilor appreciated the governor’s dedication to developing Etche Local Government Area and improving the lives of the people.

IPAC Honors Etche CTC Chairman with Leadership Award

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Etche chapter, has conferred a leadership award on Barr. Otamiri John, Caretaker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, in recognition of his exceptional leadership, magnanimity, and dedication to peaceful coexistence in Etche land.

During a solidarity visit, IPAC representatives, led by Hon. Nwogu Chima, commended Barr. Otamiri's appointment, stating, "Your leadership and expertise will undoubtedly contribute to the success of this administration."

The group praised Governor Siminalayi Fubara's people-oriented projects, which have positively impacted communities.

In response, Barr. Otamiri thanked IPAC for the award and visit, assuring them of his support.

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Barr. Otamiri John, accompanied by esteemed stakeholders and political appointees, attended the funeral service of Late Sir. Isaiah Choko at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Egwi, Etche, to pay his last respect to the trailblazing leader.

In his tribute, Barr. Otamiri described Late Choko as a man whose words of wisdom and encouragement had benefited every politician in Etche today.

He expressed his deep sadness that Sir Isaiah Choko was not alive to witness his tenure as council chairman, but prayed that his soul continues to rest in peace.

Barr. John Otamiri, on behalf of the council and the good people of the area, extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, prayed God to grant them the strength and resilience to cope with the irreparable loss of their beloved patriarch.

In a gesture of solidarity and support, the Etche CTC Chairman donated the sum of Two million naira (₦2,000,000) to support the church project initiated by Late Sir. Isaiah Choko.

He pledged to stand by the family of Late Sir. Isaiah Choko and contribute his quota to their well-being, as long as he remains the chairman of council.

Late Isaiah Choko, a distinguished pioneer and erstwhile chairman of Etche Local Government Area left an indelible mark during his tenure.

Today, Barr. John Ngubo Otamiri, Caretaker Committee chairman of Etche Local Government Area, formally commenced remedial works on the deteriorated section of Igwuruta-Chokocho road and Chokocho junction.

This infrastructure development project underscores his administration's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Etche residents.

A sizable contingent of Etche youths attended the event, expressing their appreciation for Barr. Otamiri's exemplary leadership style since his appointment and inauguration as chairman of council.

In his address, Barr. Otamiri John, emphasized the imperative of maintaining peace and harmony, urging the youths to eschew violence and promote tranquility.

"My administration is resolute in ensuring that Etche's resources are judiciously utilized for the benefit of Etche people," he declared.

"We shall not be swayed by malicious criticisms from detractors seeking to undermine our progress."

Furthermore, Barr. Otamiri announced the procurement of security vehicles for the three divisional police stations in Etche, as well as an operational vehicle for the Ospac security outfit and his chief security officer.

The vehicles will be formally presented to the beneficiaries next week.

This initiative demonstrates Barr. Otamiri's unwavering dedication to bolstering security and welfare in Etche Local Government Area.
