Joseph Oberhiri was born into the family of Odjevwedje of Ehwerhe Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, on the 22nd of July 1947.
He attended both his Primary and Secondary schools in Agbarho. Okpan Arhibo like he was fondly called was a professional driver and a musician. In his early stage in life, he joined the Edigbe Emagha musical group which was at that time, a leading Urhobo musical group in Agbarho. Although, the Edigbe musical group did not last for long and that perharps, made Oberhiri came out with his own musical group which he staged named Okpan Arhibo, a name that almost took over his real name Joseph Oberhiri Odjevwedje.
Joseph as at time of creating his own group, was a driver of the Delta Steel Company (DSC), Ovwian-Aladja. A Company he worked with for years, until he resigned to face active showbusiness as a Urhobo traditional musician.
Eberhirhi made waves from the 70s all through the 80s to the 90s. He was conferred a chieftain title as a Chief during his sojourn while still alive.
Amongst his hit songs are; Kono Juwe, Urhobo mẹ jevwe, zabu zabu, etc.
Okpan Arhibo took ill and died after battling with kidney related sickness on the 22nd of March, 2022 and since be buried.
