At the Technical Validation Workshop that held in Abuja, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, Director-General of NITDA, highlights the need to expand Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem beyond its traditional centres in Abuja and Lagos.

The National Innovation Hub Standards Framework (NIHSF) provides a pathway to strengthen and expand innovation hubs across the country for the younger generation, creating more opportunities for founders and innovators to access the support they need, wherever they are in Nigeria.

At the Technical Validation Workshop for the National Innovation Hub Standards Framework that held in Abuja, the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, highlighted the critical role of technology in driving growth across key sectors of society.

He outlined the three layers of technology-enabled development and the applications developed by innovators. He also highlighted the Federal Government’s commitment to deepening connectivity through the expansion of Nigeria’s 90,000km fibre-optic network, ensuring more Nigerians have access to reliable telecommunications and the digital opportunities it enables.

The National Innovation Hub Standards Framework (NIHSF), is a framework being developed to establish a national system for identifying and ensuring quality support to continuously improve innovation hubs across Nigeria.

Following the Abuja validation session, we are bringing the conversation to Lagos and we are excited to have more ecosystem voices into the program.

From thought-provoking conversations and stakeholder perspectives to meaningful connections and moments of collaboration, the workshop brought together key voices from across Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem to help shape the Framework.
